But the older he got, he got lazy and mostly did far too many forgettable roles and I think that's a shame.

I used to go on a site where an industry insider would spill the beans with blind items. You could often figure out who he was talking about.

One these blind items was about DeNiro. Bob wanted that Jack Nicholson money at all cost. His agent explained to him he could, but he couldn't expect the projects to be stellar. Bob didn't care as long as the cash was there.

Gary Oldman - He has maintained such a high quality to his characters and performances for the entire duration of his career (while also being very active).

I love him in Slow Horses.

PS: When I found out that he was Dracula in the Bram Stoker rendition, my mind was blown.

I love DeNiro but Oldman all day. DeNiro hasn't been in a good movie in like 20+ years at this point.

Oldman vs DDL would be a better comparison. I love Bobby De Niro but his financial troubles have forced him to take some really bad roles that have tarnished his legacy.

Don't get me wrong I love DeNiro but Gary is about 10 levels above.

Give me a film (a good one) where DeNiro isn't basically a gangster, besides Cape fear, Taxi Driver, and Raging bull.

Bet you'd have a hard time finding too many roles where Gary is the same character tbf sir
