It had some interesting ideas...but it failed terribly. The mom ghost/excuse to get Rob's wife on screen was pretty pathetic.

Making Michael a 6'9 hulking power lifter is overkill.
Who cares about his potential supernatural aspects when naturally a guy that enormous could kill most folk who are significantly smaller than him.
And Zombie's female cast made up of a bunch of girls who behave with an "ahh fuck everyone and everything!" attitude makes it a daunting task to have an audience give a damn whether they survive to the end or the get hacked midway through.
So sure, when you have a contemptible cast of 'good guys' you really need to up the level of butchery to make the film even mildly interesting.

I enjoyed the first film he made for Halloween, but the sequel fell too far from what was done in part 1. It would've been fine as a stand alone film and I thought it was gonna be a stand alone film, bad sequel kinda ruins what was done in part one, at least for me.
Yeah I saw part two once or twice, don't ever care to watch again.

Not to mention, The Shape is without his mask for half of the fucking movie, and is just some tall, bearded psycho killing people. Really a stretch to connect it to the HALLOWEEN mythos—felt like Zombie wanted to make another movie altogether.
Also, @MC Paul Barman brings up a fantastic point: Zombie's character development is ccrrrriiiinnnngggeee. Some of the most annoying characters ever in his films, including and especially the lead protagonist.
And let's not forget Michael Myers walking across a cornfield in broad daylight, lmao.

Ugh, this piece of absolute shit is the worst thing in the entire Halloween franchise. It's a godawful abomination. Not only was it nothing like Rob's previous Halloween movie, but it was so far removed from anything resembling a Halloween movie that you couldn't even remotely consider it part of the franchise. Yeah, the names were the same but the rest was just atrocious. Everything about it was abject. Like how do you take a well respected veteran actor like Malcom Mcdowell and make it seem like he can't act at all? It's as if Rob chose the worst take of each scene and put that into the movie. For EVERY actor, in EVERY scene of the film.
This abomination almost literally killed the franchise. The whole thing went dark for its longest period ever right after. Never have we had such a drought between movies before in this franchise. Thank God his reign is finally over.

I thought it was great. It was very different from modern horror and almost a horror drama.
If you go in expecting a Michael Myers movie, you'll be sorely disappointed. If you go in with an open mind and want more of a Laurie and Loomis movie, I think it's great.

Halloween: White trash was trying to be serious, but instead we have the same dialogue from every other Zombie movie, with twitchy rednecks calling everyone pig fucker and raping people and generally not caring if any of the characters live because they are so stupid
