Rizin tag team match - are you kidding me?

This sounds like Rizin wants Saku to die for some reason. I guess the first 3 KO losses to Wand weren't enough, this time he'll have help to show them who's really better.

i'll see if i can find some on youtube. one had masakazu imanari in it, and another had kazuyuki miyata (amd he hit some sweet suplexes in them lol).
 
Fun fact: They did this Wandy & Andre Dida team (Team Wanderlei) because of the Chael incident.

(and because Dida used to be Sakuraba's protege)

They had a tournament last year that Caol Uno and Naoya Uematsu won



ZST has done tag team MMA in the past as well with guys like Imanari, Morkevicius, Jeff Curran, Clementi, Kotani, and other notable guys.
 
Hideo Tokoro vs Gabi Garcia sequences are going to be awesome.
 
saw a few of them from ZST back in the day.

Novelty of them would get old I think fairly fast, but every once in a while they are fun to check out.
 
I don't really like the idea at all but Rizin is clearly just going to be the crazy shit show. So I am cool with it, either go for it or not.

Yeah, it doesn't even look like Rizin is going to pretend to be legit MMA. They are just the variety show of combat sports. They are probably soooo jealous that Bellator booked Dada vs Kimbo.
 
I'm glad they're not afraid to try crazy shit.
 
I'm not opposed to crazy shit... But I am opposed to watching broken down, decrepit fighters like Saku being trotted out for nostalgia's sake. At least it's just grappling, but even so, I feel like Saku's body is so far gone that even a grappling match will be far from entertaining.
 
They jacked some of the best things about ZST and made it its own. Tag-team matches, a focus on strong grappling, hyper-aggressive grapplers, a former puroresurah, and Hideo Tokoro. All it's missing are some Lithuanians and a one-night tournament.
