Any strongman fans on here? I loved watching it as a kid and recently got back into it in the last 3 years or so, and this dude was only 40 years old and it sounds like he died of a heart attack.

It's insane how many younger people are dying nowadays, so many athletes under 40 having heart issues, organ failure, it's ridiculous. It's gotta be the massive amounts of gear and caffeine or something, there was another story on here of a 20 year old fitness girl who died during a weight cut, it's really sad.

Humans were not designed to live much passed 40 years in the first place and on top of that being a complete monster is not the most healthy thing. RIP though

Enhancement performance drugs have had this effect for a very long time. Some guys are able to cheat the grim reaper during their pro careers then stop their cycles, lose weight and become healthier and some can't. The body is very resilient but steroids and all the other substances take their toll. It's very sad when a young man passes away so my condolences to his family. This is what keeps me from taking that plunge.

I honestly feel blessed that I was broke during the times that I wanted to dive into the drugs.

This could be its own thread but another Russian influencer passed away at just 34 from steroids and synthol use.

Man, scrolled down 1 time and it starts with He contracted Covid19 ...

RIP big men, you know the risk and go for it anyways. No fear in living.

I was skirting around the Strongman idea, less than 10 years back. I love strength sports but it is ripe with self abuse (PED).
I am shocked though. Pa was a prominent voice in SM world. RIP.

I agree with @Baby Hanma
Natural strength is the ONLY strength that counts.
LIfelong commitment pays off.

It was a combination of factors for sure. He also believes he had an undiagnosed autoimmune condition which made things go haywire. But steroids and even worse synthol made things much harder on the body.

I don't have a moral issue with AAS use but everyone who jumps into it has to use their brain and be very careful and quite often they pump huge doses and all sorts of compounds which are toxic to the liver, kidneys, heart etc...some of the best steroids for strength can come at huge costs to the body.

Every year of glory is a year off your life. (made that up, no factual stats will ever be able to be proven) Go big, but not that big.

It is a matter of perspective some people want the glory some want long life very hard to do both.
"the swift footed achilles chose glory and honor over length of days"

Beowulf outlives achilles though

Strongman ain't far behind bodybuilding in terms of deadly strength sports. Rest in power.

That's so crazy, I don't understand the synthol use at all. I get having body dysmorphia and wanting to have bigger appearing muscles, but that's just next level insanity.

A while back I was contemplating trying steroids, just to see what they were like since I've never had energy or felt "normal" my whole life, but the health problems alone are horrible, and if you get cancer then the steroids enhance that as well. There's just too many negatives.

For 'energy' look up methylene blue. If you have any type of metabolic/mitochondrial dysfunction you may see major noticeable benefits. Drops or pills will work. Single best supplement I've used for energy and low grade chronic fatigue.
