News RIP Jordan Breen

RIP Jordan Breen. A OG Sherbro which for those of us that's been around in the 00s, probably have read and listened to a lot of his work.

It makes me sad to see stuff like this in the first replies to this thread. I could be very well mistaken, but JB pretty much took the reins and made the Fight finder what it is today. I vaguely remember going back and forth with him via email to update one of my coach's records with a few fights as he was considering applying for TUF and per the application, the Sherdog Fightfinder was one of the acceptable confirmations of records (I think the other was Tapology?)

Still say they did TJ dirty though.

I remember Jordan from way back when and before my 2004 account got shut down lulz! Dude would be geeking out about obscure Japanese shoot fighters all the time.

RIP bro. You was a real one.

How long ago was this
Ah geez, dude—it wasn’t even that long of a stretch. I think it was only from around 2009 to maybe 2012 or so. That said, I don’t think they actually streamed the Tachi Palace fights live. I could be misremembering, but I’m pretty sure it was mostly radio broadcasts. They’d interview just about everyone on the card, though.

Alright, this might sound kinda weird, but I used to email into his show back in the day. If he didn’t get to your question on-air, he’d still hit you back with a reply email. I might even have some of those buried somewhere. The thing that always stuck with me? He’d end every single email with just a “- j.”

Seeing that picture, it made me laugh.

I also emailed Breen back in the day, before I started posting here on our karate forum, I remember the "-j".

Very sad news, RIP.

Yeah, I heard things weren’t great for him after the Sherdog Radio Network shut down. I’m sure there was more going on than just that. Toward the end, I remember he was even struggling on his own show—with drinking and other stuff.
Yeah, he admitted he had substance abuse issues in the past.... Regardless 38 is way too young.
