At the elite level, it is/can be your livelihood -- Literally, you are the chess you play/teach/cover -- Danya had been accused for a while now of cheating by the former 3x world champ Vladimir Kramnik -- COMPLETELY unfounded accusations. Vladimir Kramnik literally has went on a (retarded IMO) tirade -- accusing TONS of other GM's and online players of cheating.... including the world #2 Hikaru.... and a bunch of online speed players -- including people like jospem -- we're talking if you took 100 of the best players on the entire planet, and had them play speed chess -- Kramnik was going around saying some of these dudes were FRAUDS and CHEATERS. That category is so elite, it's something like .0001-.0003% could even hang. There's GM's for ELO (norms, and 2500+) but there are GM's that are 2600,2700,2800 -- they arent "official" title -- but to the average person , they are so elite they are actually called "super GM's" heh.

Like if ya take these super GM's and have them play a normal 2500 GM -- 9/10 times they make the 2500/2600 GM look foolish in contrast. It's an elite tier on top of the already elite tier.... as in bonkers levels.

It's pretty fuckin' absurd, because people like Daniel + Hikaru _ jospem literally STREAM and play(ed) thousands of games, and often do "speed runs" -- staring with like 100 ELO (min) and going to like 3000 (insane GM+ levels) like a hot knife through butter.

Danya took it rather harsh for a lot of reasons, and in recent interviews -- it was clearly rattling him.

A lot of players look(ed) up to Kramnik in their youth -- so basically just image being accused for like a year plus of cheating, being told you are a fake, and the person telling you this is someone you looked up to -- has / had a massive chess presence (3x world champ) -- It ain't hard to see how it would fuck with yer head when the dudes shitting on yer livelihood.... that's my take anyways.

Most people laugh at Kramnik, cause he is well past his day -- and clinging on to whatever relevance he can. Kramnik and jopsem actually played a match called "clash of claims"

TLDR ; I think Danya took the words of kramnik too hard, got rattled over having someone he looked up to trying to wreck + fuck with his livelihood... whatever happened -- drugs / suicide / accidental overdose -- no one knows yet......

lol yeah I saw that. Dude is obsessed with cheating in Chess, then mentors the dude involved in the most infamous Chess cheating controversy. And while everyone was busy making buttplug jokes about Hans, Danya still remained really nice and respectful to him. Hans had very nice things to say about Naroditsky after he passed away. Hopefully he, along with everyone else, drops Kramnik and has nothing to do with him.

Chess federation looking into Vladimir Kramnik's attacks on grandmaster Daniel Naroditsky​

The world chess federation (Fide) has said it is examining public attacks former world champion Vladimir Kramnik made against Daniel Naroditsky before the US grandmaster's death.

Fide CEO Emil Sutovsky told the Reuters news agency it was "looking into" the Russian's previous comments accusing Naroditsky, who died this week aged 29, of online cheating.

Before his death, Naroditsky denied any wrongdoing and indicated the controversy had taken its toll on him in his final Twitch broadcast.

Damn -- well, we've watched this for almost 2 years -- there's interviews and tons of footage where Daniel clearly is bothered by the attacks from Kramnik and others -- Hikaru is being vert outspoken on it all and always HAS been defending (great defender both in game and outside of game) -- I don't want some spectacle/story, but the direct connection of mental stress was put on Danya being hammered in this way doesn't take much looking into... it's been widely known and seen this while time....
