Good thing obama brought us together as one nation under god, regardless of race. Otherwise we might be pretty divided. Solid president.
Black on white civilian violence is, statistically, more prevalent. However, these are not issues of violence that merely include separate races, but instead are instances where situations are escalated simply because of race. Had Trayvon Martin been white, would Zim Zam have given two shits? Had this kid been white, would this cop have pulled him over? There is more of a political element to these stories than yours, which is undeniably despicable in itself.
And, for the record, I didn't think Zimmerman should have been found guilty. But abuse of power by police officers, especially along racial lines, needs to be diligently pursued and vanquished. I think lack of accountability for officers of peace is one of the most pressing social issues we have today.
lol, no I meant amerikcana post was calling folks out and was shitting on some people.
So I said shots fired meaning waiting for a response from all the people that is gonna say he is racist.
Well you had me, I thought all hell was breaking lose.
I was trying to do a pun
when I said shots fired, meaning ohh shit he went there, with the I hope no one gets hit
Not saying I don't believe you but do you have a link to the 17 year old raped and killed?
I went through this a couple years ago in a thread.. It was almost IMPOSSIBLE to find anything on it. I think it was around Trayvon time. I used it as an example about how black on white crime is downplayed, while the other is hyped.
I remember 100% when I did a search to find articles on this crime, when I googled "Macomb girl lured to Detroit and shot" I swear on my life one of the hits was about Trayvon and other white on black crime..
I will look for it, I remember I did find it.
Anyone who has Facebook knows that story. It made national news and was ammunition for the woe-is-me white victims during the Trayvon debacle.
It's still fucking disgusting and makes me sick to my stomach every time I read it.
It was one of the more WTF is wrong with people situations.
The reason it got brought up during trayvon is exactly because it didn't have panels on tv discussing it or it didn't bring white people out to do a hands across America for them.
There was also the complaint that when blacks do something, they are acting as individuals not as a group, but when something happens to a black person of all a sudden it is happening to the entire race instead of the individual.

Please try to understand the next few sentences. I'm not trying to condescend, because this is a somewhat subtle difference that a lot of people can't seem to appreciate.
Yes, you are correct to an extent, but only to an extent. The reason for the trend that you see is not the product of some reverse racism social mechanism. It is because those instances of black-on-white violence were not reflected in policy: race was a component of the crime, but did not determine the crime.
There is a difference between a random white man killing a random black man because the two get into a fight and black men being targeted by officers of peace and persons (such as Zimmerman) who are acting with prejudice regarding their criminality based solely on their skin color. Similarly, black-on-black crime is under reported because, while social issues within the black community are certainly at play, more at-the-surface issues of policy integral to the race discussion are not.
That last part was awkwardly phrased and I'm in a bit of a hurry so I can't elaborate, but I hope that made sense. These two things may seem to be the same thing, but they are not.
Yes.

This is some shit that happened in my state and you didn't hear shit about it nationally (meaning day after day or have panels talking about it).

According to the testimony of the Knox County Acting Medical Examiner Dr. Darinka Mileusnic-Polchan at the subsequent trial of Eric Boyd, Newsom was sodomized with an object and then raped by an individual. When his body was discovered near a set of nearby railroad tracks, it was found that he had been bound, blindfolded, gagged, and stripped naked from the waist down. He had been shot in the back of the head, neck, and back and his body had been set on fire.
According to the testimony of the medical examiner, Channon's death came after hours of torture, having suffered injuries to her vagina, anus, and mouth as a result of repeated sexual assaults. It was also reported that her body was scrubbed with bleach which was also poured down her throat, in an attempt by her attackers to remove DNA evidence, while Channon was still alive. She was then bound with curtains and strips of bedding, her face covered with a trash bag and her body stashed within five large trash bags, before being placed inside a residential waste disposal unit and covered with sheets. The medical examiner said there was evidence that Channon slowly suffocated to death.[5]
Channon Gail Christian, 21, and Hugh Christopher Newsom, Jr., 23, were a couple from Knoxville, Tennessee. They were raped, tortured, and murdered after being kidnapped the evening of January 6, 2007 when Christian's vehicle was carjacked.[1][2] Five people were arrested and charged in the case. The grand jury indicted four of the suspects on counts of capital murder, robbery, kidnapping, rape, and theft, while a fifth was indicted at the federal level.
Of the four charged at the state level, three (Letalvis D. Cobbins, Lemaricus Davidson, and George Thomas) had multiple prior felony convictions. After a jury trial, Lemaricus Davidson was sentenced to death by lethal injection and Letalvis Cobbins and George Thomas were sentenced to life in prison, Cobbins to life without the possibility of parole and Thomas to life without the possibility of parole. Vanessa Coleman has been convicted of facilitating the crimes and sentenced to 53 years in prison, and Eric Dewayne Boyd has been convicted of federal charges as accessory after the fact to carjacking and sentenced to 18 years in prison.[3] The state convictions were set aside because of misconduct by the presiding judge, who has since been disbarred.
Retrials were originally slated for the summer and fall of 2012, but the orders for retrials of Davidson and Cobbins were subsequently overturned, and their convictions and sentences stand. Coleman and Thomas got retrials which resulted in convictions, but with reduced sentences. Coleman's sentence was reduced to 35 years, and Thomas' sentence was reduced to life in prison with the possibility of parole.
"We know from our investigation that the people charged in this case were friends with white people, socialized with white people, dated white people. So not only is there no evidence of any racial animus, there's evidence to the contrary."
so is Zimmerman having a black friend also proven there is no racial animus ?
man this double standard is just so over the top
