Rio Olympics

Bolt three gold medals 2.65 now........

Field over Bolt at 200m is currently at +152 on Marathonbet! He's -200 favorite on 200m and -400 favorite on 100m there lol

Any odds on wrestling?
All odds are up on UK books vjkram for wrestling. Who you liking?
Teddy Riner in men's super heavyweight judo is -250. Steep price but no way he loses. Parlay fodder for sure

USA Basketball mens ....51 is the spread against China in opening match. Bit much, no?

Leg-grabbing is still not allowed in Judo right? If so then -250 seems nice.

Tempted to bet Bilyal +800 just cause I know him.

Do they even show wrestling and judo on tv?

We're the USA bro. Our guys are at least a foot and a half taller than all Chinese players. Gonna cover that shit with ease

Racist.....but a valid point!

First game is often a bit of a let down is all I was thinking, and China aren't THAT bad...but yeah, obviously not a usa dream team. One of those bets that if you lose, you feel like a complete twat. I'm talked out of it!

I just registered with marathonbet their linits suck

Yup.. Lines are awesome, limits are ridiculous.. They limited me on MMA so that i can win max €10 per bet :(

lol i've not even used them and they had a great line on the bet i like for Sat and it limited me to £118! Wish i'd never bothered signing up.

They aren't up on WHill where I have most of my money, natch
I checked Ladbrokes where I mean to open an account sometime and they don't have them either.
They do have them on Unibet though but that means Unibet limits so they may as well not be there. Hard to dream about having a red panty singlet night when your limit is £0.23 for a bet on Marya Mamashuk

anyway so far I've liked:
Men's 74kg Freestyle
Jordan Burroughs: 2.0 or better on various sites
Why is he evens? Arguably the best american wrestler ever and has been dominant for years winning gold every time except the one time he 'only' won bronze because his knee got fucked up mid tournament. 2nd biggest bet, 2-3u

Womyn's 75kg
Adeline Gray 2.0 or better (2.5 on unibet before my almighty £5.07 max bet moved it to 2.35  )
Biggest lock of the tournament IMO I want to go all in on the big bish.... ~5u

Women's 53kg
Sofia Mattsson 5.50-6.50 or Helen Maroulis 5.50-8.00
both have a strong shot chance of winning so the odds offer Barry-patented Value™. Champ Yoshida is the most successful wrestler ever but she is old and knows her time is over (rumored to be planning a jump to MMA in fact). Mattsson closed the distance rapidly over the last 2 years and Yoshida was crying after beating her 2-1 in the WC final last year because 'it might be the last time'. Mattsson also just won the euros pinning all opponents in less than 1 minute. Maroulis beat Mattsson last year though nothing really happened in the match - won on a technicality - & has a size advantage being world champ at a higher weight, should be priced way way way lower than the 8.00 she is/was on unibet.

Women's 58kg
Valeria Koblova (1-4) 2.75 on Unibet
I don't know if other books will offer the 'to place' lines and I generally don't like them because (i) the odds suck on anyone likely to medal while (ii) a bad draw could stop anyone from medalling, but she's a solid wrestler who has been absent for a year or two which is probably why this is at a gift price. Would be very surprising if she didn't place 1-4.

waiting to make my mind up about some of the other male underdogs (Cormier's 96kg pal Gatsalov is tempting me @ 4.00 or something)

Great insights, I'm tailing on Grey and Burroughs! Mattson is now at 5.00 to win and 1.15 to medal...

Good read! Thanks mate. Tailing your picks. I have the same shitty limits as you on unibet but you can still get Adeline Gray @ 2.25 on betsafe.

If betting the boxing events have a look at Robson Conceicao of Brazil in the lightweight class if he's not being offered up as the favourite. I'd imagine both Alvarez and Selimov are the two favourites, but Conceicao gave each of them all they could handle in losing very close decisions to them at each of the last two World Championships. You could easily make the argument he won one if not both of those fights (and vice versa), and if Conceicao fights the same type of fights against either then I'd be shocked if he doesn't get the decision on his home soil. He's the best boxer the Brazilians have at the moment I do believe, and should be the one benefiting the most from being on the home team. Conceicao was also given a decision win over Lomachenko a few years back, only to see the result overturned the next day for whatever reasons. Conceicao is a strong contender to medal simply on merit alone. But with the Games taking place in his own country? It'd be tough to pass up if not the listed favourite for the gold.

Selimov 10/3 +333, Alvarez 10/3 +333 joint favourites. Conceicao is out at 16/1 +1600, he opened at 100/1 +10000!
