they should fight in one of these
i agreeRing. Its 24' vs 30' (UFC). Easier to trap your opponent and looks aesthetically pleasing. More finishes.
They both have their disadvantages though, grabbing on the fence, and using it to your advantage etc.its pure insanity that pride fans still think a ring is better after countless fighters getting tied up in the ropes and only pushed back in by a small army of japanese men

But that's the problem, grabbing on the fence can happen multiple times, constantly, just like a knee Jerk reaction, but the ref would rather slap the hand and tell them stop doing it, rather than pause the fight, and that's if the ref is even looking properly. Its a problem. All it takes is one grab for a split second to stop a take down. And then let go. The ref nobody can do shot about it. And it happens constantly.grabbing the fence is a foul, its the refs' problem that they dont enforce it and deduct points
Yes there was a promotion that had a net on the bottom ropes. I forget which one it was.Has anyone tried making a boxing ring with meshing?
Octagon benefit wrasslers more whereas the ring benefit strikers.
So basically cage=mma
+1 for smaller cage. I started watching UFC before I saw Pride and guys falling out of the ropes and constantly having to be reset always irked me.I agree the ring is more ascetic, presses the fighters into a fight more, but it creates problems too.
The cage is an acceptable middle road and a smaller cage pushes the action like a ring can but without issues that arise like falling out
Neither are perfect but the cage is probably better over all
ring 100%. a cage is so fucking corny and gimmicky, hard to take mma seriously as a sport.
