He couldn't outlast an older Lennox in a slugfest - what makes you think he could whoop up on a Prime Bowe, who liked to fight at close range?

Yes, Lennox had a lot of experience at that time, but he wasn't doing anything slick'ish, just punching Klitschko in the mouth.

I don’t think Bowe’s punch can cut Vitali, let alone stop him TBH.

You haven't actually seen the Klitschko vs. Lewis fight, have you?

That fight was a learning experience for Klitschko. Klitschko improved a TON after that fight / because of that fight

Surely this is up for debate but I think Vitali crushes Bowe about as bad as he crushed Shannon Briggs

Like what? He had three fights after that and retired.

The Klitschko that came back in 2008 is not Prime anymore.

Like the other guy said....you haven't actually watched this fight. Lewis looked great. So did Vitali. One of the best fights ive seenm. Both fighters ate huge shots. One of the uppercuts lewis landed on Vitali wouldve knocked out a horse. Didnt even faze Vitali.

You should watch the fight.....one of the best heavyweight battles ive seen. I think lewis retired after this fight.

Not sure why you UFC fans think that I haven't watched that fight multiple times, LOL.
Btw: An uppercut is rarely a KO punch, more of a wake up punch.

Klitschko/Lewis was a slopfest. GREAT FIGHT But both were all over the place. In fights after that Klitschko boxed beautifully and dominated everyone he’s fought after except for Corrie Sanders. The Lennox Lewis fight was wild. He boxed beautifully in most fights after that. (Keyword most. I’m aware not all) After the Lennox Lewis fight I don’t think Klitschko lost a single round fight except for against Corrie Sanders. Looking back a lot of the guys Klitschko beat didn’t have very successful careers but the keyword there is looking back. Corrie Sanders, Danny Williams, Samuel Peter, Chris Arreola, those were good wins. Williams and Sanders were coming off of big wins, and Peter and Arreola at the time had some nice momentum going. Tomasz Adamek had some very nice momentum going too, but I’ll admit we all knew he was doomed lol. It’s easy to crap on his resume a decade after the fact, but at the time those were some solid wins. Admittedly, there was no one out there to REALLY give him a challenge, but is that his fault? The way he moved around and jabbed Arreola’s face off all the while keeping his hands dropped down to his waist was just ridiculous. Vitali was a freak

Arreola had shitty feet. Not much of a fight IQ, no ring generalship.

Because Klitschko was up 4-2 on all scorecards, he lost by a cut that occured in the 3rd(which he still managed to win 2/3 rounds after that), Lewis had just expended a lot of energy to edge Vitali in the 6th, and, although both were tired, Vitali looked like the clearly fresher man going into the 7th.

So, how did Vitali fail to outlast Lewis?

Hindsight is 20/20. Arreola picked up some decent wins early in his career. I know he was only really ever given a puncher’s chance in that fight, but he earned that title shot. The Travis Walker win was decent, the Chazz Witherspoon win was even more decent. Made a statement by taking out Jameel McCline the way he did. Fan friendly style and HBO loved him. Not a championship level fighter. A stale era. But atleast you gotta say he earned that title shot.

Lol what?

An uppercut hurts a lot worse than anything...at least a head shot. Well placed body shots are about 10x more painful than getting chinned with something clean.

You might not see guys using as finishers, but i promise, what relatively little first hand experience i can give you, get hit with one of those and you're not the same for the rest of that session whether it's sparring or the real mccoy....it sucks. It's different.

A round robin tournament between Lennox, Bowe and Vitali would be sick

they're by far the top dogs of the 90s and Bowe vs Lewis would be potentially amazing

I'd take Big Daddy but in reality Lennox probably gets both of them. Lennox was fucking good
