Renzo Gracie Legacy. Very good documentary. Buy it, don't steal it, support the creator.

As far as books go, I think the biography by Reila is the only one.

Donkey, could you tell us more about Rolls? It seems like no one could touch him. Do you know what his training schedule or anything like that was like? What about his best/biggest marquee fight? Rickson was married to Kim. She is brazilian and can be seen in old photos of Rickson. You can see her in Choke. I'm pretty sure they were married before Rickson came to the US.

Is Rickson religious? I am guessing the gracies are not (what with all the bastard children) but can you shed some light on this? Do they still believe carlos was a peruvian deity or whatever?

Has anyone ever mentioned it as the reason for the gracies' fall from grace? Rockson's death due to drugs, Royce getting caught doing steroids, all of them losing to Sakuraba, Losing the UFC, extinction in MAA, etc. It's just that I have always thought of Brazil as a very Roman Catholic nation so I am interested in how the gracies consider themselves as gods affects Brazil's perception of them.

I have heard people claim that it was renzo's cop students that "covered up" the evidence. If only those guys would see how stupid that sounds. They have to commit a crime and falsify evidence/be in a conspiracy with the M.E/obstruct justice. These are serious crimes that will ruin one's carrer and pension. No one is going to do it because of their bjj instuctor nevermind a group of cops doing this.

I remember back in '98, a 8th degree Kodokan instructor gave me a Rickson Gracie bandanna as omiyage. I thought it was a strange thing to give seeing we were doing Judo, but since that time I've developed quite an appreciation for what the Gracie's (and Rickson) have been able to do.

... watching Choke didn't hurt either.

I just watched Choke the other night and was extremely impressed by Yuki Nakai(sp?). He actually went blind in his right eye and didn't say anything about it for years so that it wouldn't reflect poorly on the sport. I honestly didn't know how well he did in the tournament before watching the documentary(except that he beat Gordeau) and when I saw he was only 135lbs I thought it was ridiculous he was being put in with guys twice his size who really "should" have killed him. That guy had Heart. Extremely motivational, and ironically he seemed to embody Gracie Jiu Jitsu even more than Rickson by beating guys who outweighed him by 100lbs with his grappling.

The story that I had heard (from the internet of course) was that although Rockson was in a motorcycle accident, he was found dead in a motel room. I remember reading that it appeared that his wounds from the accident were days if not weeks old. I guess the point was that he died under some strange circumstances since for some reason he didn't seek medical attention for his wounds.
