The fight was years ago, but after rewatching the whole fight again, nah I don't think Reyes beat Jones at all.

Reyes did good, frustrated Jones a lot but Reyes was fighting backward throughout the whole 5 rounds and he only won round 1 at best.
Round 2 and 3 were basically draw rounds at best.
The new round 4 and 5 were all Jones round, especially round 5 Jones was stalking Reyes and hunt him down while Reyes was fighting to survive.

Seriously people think a guy that trying to survive win a fight?

Big facts.

A close fight like GSP and Hendricks they will say it was a good fight. But when Jones has a close fight they cry he lost.

I didn't rewatch the fight but I thought he would lose the decision when he took the last round off.

Exactly my take.

Champions always push for the win ... while "pretenders" and "wannabes" are always backing-up, yielding ground, and "waiting for the bell to ring" ...

Jones once again proved himself to be the Champion in this fight.
.

I wouldn't say it's pretty clear that he won 1 - 3 but he did land more than jones in each of those rounds.

The stats show more strikes landing, but that's misleading because of how many were blocked or were glancing blows. Jones had the more effective striking, at least in rounds 2 and 3, even if he was technically outstruck.

I could see a case for reyes. But jones pressed him the entire fight, landed shots, 2 takedowns.

Reyes tried to run away and play tag like wonderboy and win on points. Then gassed out in 4 and 5.

How does getting knocked on your ass, headkicked and chased around the octagon not count as effective?

I thought the real champion was Joe Rogan that night..

But yeah, I thought Reyes won...it was close enough to go either way. But, I really thought Reyes hands would be raised but with these judges I was not surprised at all.

Jones ran many times but you don't win a fight just because you're the one pushing the pace.

Reyes won.

but Reyes fell of a cliff and Jones is about to fight for the HW title…so people have to convince themselves that Jon didn’t clearly lose his last LHW fight to someone who may very well be a can.
