Rewatched District 9

I liked Chappie well enough. Hugh Jackman was pretty over the top and Die Antwoord were decent actors for people who aren't actually actors.

But District 9 was by far his best work IMO. Elysium had its moments but was overall quite disappointing.

Short films can sometimes hide weaknesses that features can expose.

I actually did watch that and a bunch of the shorts in that collection last night though. Pretty good, and whoever does his effects work is still knocking it out of the park. It was kind of bizarre and creepy, though, in how that collection just randomly showed up in my Netflix recommendations after talking about him in here.

I only saw elysium out of his other movies it was good but nothing like district 9.

I watched Elysium and district 9 when I was a teenager and thought Elysium was way better. District 9 is considered to be the superior movie of the two so maybe if I rewatched I'd have a different opinion

It's really good.
I got a recommendation that has a quite similiar vibe and amazing sci-fi feeling to it: The Arrival (2016). A bit more slow-paced if you don't mind.
Also has great sound design, just like District 19. Watch if you haven't yet.
