He was on top of the mountain and he tried to reach the sky. But like Icarus he burned his wings.

That's why GSP is the true goat.
/end of thread.

Nope...GSP was too scared to move up for Silva fight and his record at 170 was not unblemished....
Diaz>Serra

gsp would have sat in a press conference heartbroken from a loss to anderson silva had he taken the same risk mcgregor did back in the day.

respect to mcgregor. when u take risky fights like that, it rly can come down to 50/50. there's a winner and a loser.

Are we now comparing Nate Diaz to one of the Goats?

Very few fighters would have the guts to move up and fight a man ranked #5 in the weight class above them. Conor tried and 11 day one hand Nate beat his ass.

Conor is still a warrior. Despite tapping so quickly...

He's got a warriors heart and I respect his mental approach to the game. Still a breath of fresh air.

How does that make GSP the greatest when he played it safe?

Respect for stepping up and going for the Superfights. A compelling run.

I don't respect nothing. Guy came in and fought someone his size and got whooped and bitched out. The guy was only on 10 days notice as well. He's overrated and has no ground skill whatsoever.

gsp was no goat. gsp played it safe and fought where he was dominant. like bj penn, conor wasn't afraid to take risk and challenge himself at a higher weight class when he could have easily taken the gsp route which he didn't. you don't have to like conor, but what he did like what bj penn did, shows what a true competitor is made of.
