Resident Evil 3 Remake

You literally are retarded. Read the whole fucking sentence. You're either 8 years old or an adult with no reading comprehension skills.
I am, fuck you.

You can tell an RE fan from a casual fan. You didnt finish in 5 hours on a first playthrough without rushing from point A to B with no exploring, you just didnt . Seeing the 5 hours something at the end screen doesnt mean the game was 5 hours long. The game only counts your "gameplay" not the cutscenes and dialogue etc. This is nothing new in RE games.

Its what all these casuals and reviewers were spouting, and damn of course they expose their nature. Timer also doesnt count reloading saves etc.

There are more difficulty modes if you want more difficulty.

You can say its a 4/10 thats fine, but yall should stop spouting that 5 hour nonsense.
My friend was Cumming his pants for this game and beat it in 3.3 hours, and he even said he died a lot. He must not have done any exploring or something.

There aren’t really mixed reviews. It’s a good but short game that puts its own take on the original. You have people who are too emotionally attached to what their idea of this game should have been and can’t see past that to appreciate anything else about it and wind up giving it a 4/10. It’s an emotional outburst that clouds what’s actually a really fun game.

Gman can stick to FPS games, all the Resident Evil diehards I’ve seen reviews from really enjoyed it in spite of some criticisms.

That would mean he spent around 5 and a half hours playing it as the cutscenes are at over 2 hours long when put together. If he really did do the whole thing in that time then he might have just tried to speed run the whole thing, not explored, not read any documents, tried his best to run past all enemies, and skipped all cutscenes.

You want to talk about emotional reactions but unapologetically splooge all over for this game despite its glaring issues. It's weird. I don't know what your angle is but it's weird. You enjoy the game that much? Good. I'm happy for you. But stop trying to dismiss other people's opinions all the time just because they differ from yours.

Next to none. I’m playing on Hardcore and my IGT is around 4 hours. I’m reading files, looking for secrets, you know, playing the game.

So.. why is this one a mixed bag of reviews as opposed to the 2nd one?

It was made at the same time as RE2 and uses the same engine. 2 was always the more beloved game, was longer and had a better story. I doubt you'll find many people that ever had 3 as their favorite and I remember there being very little hype for it when it came out.

Because RE2 only came out just last year and with this being a lot shorter while looking and playing exactly the same, that's why people are mostly mixed on it.

I really enjoyed it but because the turn around was so quick, it DID feel like playing DLC or just another chapter rather than a brand new game. I personally like short games so it worked for me but I can see how some would be disappointed. That said, this is no shorter than the original RE3 and Capcom never acted like they were going to reboot the game and add 10 more hours.

I couldn’t give a shit about user reviews because they’re far too likely to have people who can’t act objectively and give perfectly good games a 4/10. Yeah I’m going to dismiss anyone who essentially throws a tantrum like that over a game. A 4/10 is a game that has next to no redeeming qualities. It’s terribly made in every regard. This is not that.

I think he's talking about the critic reviews which aren't mixed at all. If you look on the user reviews they're mixed but the two first negative ones you see are these.
"Another game filled with filthy language. There are f-bombs in almost every sentence, as well as other profanities. We need to show Capcom that this is unacceptable by not buying these games" 0/10
and
"Well, its the same as re2make but worse in pretty much all aspects.

In many way it felt like a rushed game, and more like a dlc of re2 rather than a 60 dollars game.

Not a single freaking puzzle in the whole game.
Beating nemmy wasnt a challenge at all, Mr. X was way tougher to handle.
Super Short.
No replayability, no costumes, no rank S+, no mercenaries." 0/3
Some of the things stated here are just straight up factually incorrect. No costumes? That's wrong. Not a single puzzle? That's wrong. No replayabillity? Well there's two difficulty settings you can unlock by beating on hardcore. There's also a whole points system where you can unlock items for you to use on replay runs such as Jill's original Samurai Edge, defensive items, etc.

That's not mentioning a lot of people review bombed the game due to people like Quartering on Twitter complaining about Jill's classic costume being changed so you can't see up her skirt and it was "false advertising".

I'm not saying this game doesn't have issues, but I feel like the critic scores are a lot more accurate of a representation of what this game actually is. It's a well made game and to give it a 0/10 or a 3/10 is just ridiculous imo.

That's fair. I'm not saying every user review is something to take at face value but a 6/10 average over 1000 reviews is a decent look at the whole picture. I gave it a 4, yes, I didn't say it's completely without value. It looks great, its in the RE2 engine so it controls and feels just fine. But the meat on that bone isn't worth the $60 which is how this game needs to be judged. Like I said if it were a $30 or even $40 game or DLC I'd bump it up a couple. But yeah the game itself is nowhere as good as RE2 when it comes to overall design. I don't think a 4 is worthless, I think it's bad and I stand by that.

Lets stop the moaning, what are your top RE games dudes?

RE is like my favourite video game franchise. An 8/10 RE game is almost always a 9 or 9.5 in comparison to other games imo.

Ill list them with their ratings.

1. RE 4 -> personal rating of 10. This is imo the peak of the series, near perfect pacing, a near perfect action game, but admitedly a less RE type game. The game has a few flaws but no game is truly perfect, and a 10 doesnt mean its perfect but a game that's not only a masterpiece but is truly one of the best ever made.

2. RE2 remake-> personal rating of 9.5. Survival horror perfection. The first game does things better but my god is this a near perfect return to form. Some things are lacking yet again but this game smashes it out the park.

3. RE 1999 -> personal rating of a 9.5 Is the most replayble of the original RE games, the most fun and my god is Nemesis amazing.

4. RE7 -> personal rating of 9. If I were to tell a more modern gamer to play a true RE game, itd be this one. It suffers from a weaker back half like nearly every other RE but my god is the early portion perfect.

5. RE2 -> personal rating of 8.5. The music, game design, the RPD, nearly everything in this game is made to the highest standard. The story is also the best but Ive never played RE games for the story, more so the characters and actual gameplay but this one did everything fantastically well.

6a. RE1 -> personal rating of 8. The mansion is the best designed area in the whole series.

6b. RE1 Remake -> personal rating of 8. Is a better version of RE1 in nearly every way and yet RE1 is higher imo.

7. REvelations 2 -> Personal rating of 8. I honestly couldnt believe how good this was since I thought the original was meh. Some areas felt a bit artificial and boxy, but to retain the survival horror aspect, improve the gameplay and have a really engaging story was amazing. I loved this game and Raid mode is fun too.

I think RE3make will sit nicely at the bottom of this list, its a pretty great game imo.

Top 3 have got to be

RE 1 Remake. The epitome of survival horror. This and OG Silent Hill are the two things I think of when the genre is mentioned. An absolute classic.

RE 2 Remake. Took an absolute classic of a game and reimagined it into something even better imo. Loved the improved character development to old characters such as Marvin and the Birkins. Irons out certain plot holes or inconsistencies (for the most part), and gave much needed improvements to the Sherry section.

RE 4. Probably just down to personal preference that it's not rated higher. There's not much that's wrong with this game at all. There's a reason it's rated as the best RE game by a hell of a lot of people. Great balance of action, horror, and cheesy dialogue.

You never played original RE 3, right? Just curious on what you thought the story was like in this.
I did play it many times, in fact I always felt it got overlooked. It wasn't as good as 2 but I felt it was a solid entry.

I wasn't too concerned about the story. I was a little surprised at how quickly it jumped into the Carlos stuff but clearly they had to move things along. I thought the dialogue was cheesy as fuck though.

Must have been a typo
I only played 4 once right when it came out on the GameCube and well yes I thought it was a good game I didn't think it was a great Resident Evil game. I like Resident Evil because it's Resident Evil. I never played Resident Evil 1, 2, 3 or code Veronica and thought I wish this was less Resident Evil ish. That's why I think the Resident Evil 1 remake is the best Resident Evil game. I thought the Resident Evil 2 remake was a perfect blend of old Resident Evil with modern mechanics. I don't feel the same way about this game.

I think one of the redeeming factors of this game is the story and something it had over the first game. I felt they improved upon Brad, Carlos, and Jill by a lot compared to the original RE3 and I like how they gave more time to UBCS soldiers. It's just disappointing that they didn't give this game more time.

Guys, please read the entirety of what I said. I said "I never played....and thought to myself I wish this was less Resident Evil ish." I'm not saying I didn't play the games. I'm saying I didn't play the games and THEN think to myself I wish they were different.
