Resident Evil 2 Remake/General

Leon has the most cringeworthy dialogue of any video game character I can think of

"Jill. You're here, too."
"Yes. You're here, too."

"This house is dangerous. There are...Terrible demons! Ouch!"

So many horrible lines in one, that it makes RE2 read like Hemingway

If you haven't heard this porn parody using the horrible voice acting of RE1, it's comedy gold.

RE2 is one of my favorite games. I had more fun with 4 but 2 had my favorite story.

I hated 5 and 6. Basically everything after 4 but I hear the boat residente evil wasn't bad. I forget the name...

I'm currently playing HD remake on my ps4. The new controls alone are worth it.

Is this the HD remake of 1??? How is it? I'm tempted to buy it but it's a download right?

Have you played Revelations 2? So much fan service to the first game's so-bad-it's-good writing.

If you can, get the PC version off Steam. It's the only one that runs at 60 fps and there's also a mod to skip the door sequences.

You want fixed camera angles and tank controls but no door screens?

Fuck that noise. Wouldn't be a classic RE without those.

Oh wow I got the game on my PS4 but got bored of it after a while. If I could go back and use that mod it would actually be better.

The door loading quickly gets annoying if you're speedrunning though. And eventually, you WILL get interested in speedrunning if you're an old school RE fan. It's only a question of when, not if. Resistance is futile. :icon_twis
Have you ever played the DS version of 1? You can skip EVERYTHING...and it's glorious. Being able to skip cutscenes on the GC version of 2 is a godsend too.

While I agree with this I seriously got stuck in RE2 because of the ammo shortage. I couldn't move past this licker cause I had no more ammo. That's when a game like that can not be fun anymore cause you can no longer progress. I liked how Max Payne 3 did it. Whenever you would keep dying in one spot they would give you extra pain killers/ammo the next time around. That way you could still play the game on really hard but not get stuck somewhere and have to start over.

Well that's on you because there's plenty of ammo in 2. You don't have to kill a single Licker in the game either (even the "super" ones in the lab, watch some speedruns on Youtube if you don't believe me). The only one that can cause problems in the RPD is in Claire A in the room where you get the cog.

Yeah, I don't really speedrun outside of trying for weapons. Might be fun though. To me though the doors are almost essential to a classic RE game. I do have the DS version of RE and I didn't even know you could skip them. Guess I've never tried.

That sums things up well.

My brother is quite a bit younger than me and didn't grow up with these types of games. He thought RE2 was a typical shooter and he quickly got trapped and died after he ran out of ammo lol. It's a learning lesson. You don't need to kill everything you come across in this game. Running is often your best option.

It's called survival horror for a reason.

It's tricky for a newer player though. It does take some time and skill to learn how to juke and dodge zombies/monsters. Like you said, there's plenty of ammo but you still need to be conservative at times.

Yeah you hit B instead of START to skip the doors.
