Republican on Killing Internet Privacy: "Nobody has to use the Internet"

So you have no clue what you're talking about.

Fundamental difference between Clinton and trump on healthcare lien many other policies.
Get this through your thick skull. US domestic policy is a dog and pony show that only :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:s or retards care about. I don't give a damn about democrats or republicans it's all the same. Our bill of rights is dead. We're living on borrowed time on a fixed timeline. The MIC is also corporate America, the health care system, and Hollywood. That should cause you concern.

In the bigger picture US domestic policies doesn't hold a candle to what is to come. But your to busy worrying about spilled milk and not what's actually going on in a global sense.

You realize it's all the same regardless of being a republican or democrat right?

What you see on the media is just a dog and pony show meant to distract you and cause knee jerk reactions like yours.

At the end of the day if you pay any attention, both dems and reps meet behind closed doors and decide what to do next together. It's been this way for years. Your just falling for all the theatrics. Both of the political parties are shit and they do not have your best interest in mind period.

Couldn't agree more.

Create an illusion of choice so people don't get angry, and feel like they are participating.

Then ruffle the feathers of the middle class and get them to argue about a bunch of minutia so politicians can ultimately continue to line of the pockets of big business capital accumulation for a few crumbs to themselves.

The results indicate that Web browsing histories, which can be obtained by a variety of known techniques, may be used to divulge personal preferences and interests to Web authors; as such, browsing history data can be considered similar to a biometric fingerprint. Since Web histories are largely unique to person and, as shown, stable over time in some of the cases, they can be understood as an identifier and potentially be used to strengthening of tracking, in addition to revealing information about a particular user’s browsing interests.

Yeah?

Would you rather have the government control the internet or private companies?

Most here know the answer to that.

Chances are you are (likely easily) identifible based on your browsing history. Knowing this should affect your evaluation since you said you would not have a problem unless your name would be connected to the data.

I don't agree that you're easily identifiable based on browsing history. You're trying to make this way more nefarious than it is. I don't know what you're real name is, but if someone you know decided they wanted to learn ____'s browsing history, could they do that? Of course not. And like I said, the regulations didn't even go into effect yet, so it's just staying the same as iit's always been. Of all the privacies that are invaded by the gov't, my anonymous browsing history going to advertisers doesn't even rank. If you're that worried, just use a VPN and make it more difficult to even keep track of.

You realize none of the shit that is happening would any different with Hillary.

Different face, same outcome. Trump is just a different personality accomplishing the same goals the establishment ultimately wants.

I suppose it just would of been more digestible for you if it was Hillary and not him?

It's all the same. We would be in the same position no matter who was sitting at the WH.
Somehow it's Hillary's fault. Thanks Hillary.

That's gotta be one of the dumbest quotes ever said.
Thats like saying "Nobody has to use the phone"

The internet is a communication tool just like how a phone is.
If you're paying for the service, then you should have the right to privacy, otherwise the service should be free.

People also use credit cards, e-signatures, VeriSign, Bitcoin transactions, and electronic bank account transfers online.
Why the fuck would anyone want this protected information available out in the open to the public?

Why does the government need to know what you buy with your money?
Are we living in a Communist country now?

Can the Republicans stop pretending they aren't fascists?
The problem at hand has very little to do with fascism. I don't think you or anybody who liked this comment knows what this word even means.

LOL@any Trumpets who would come in here acting like they're upset.
You guys did this to us. You don't get to act like you're a part of the outrage. This is what you voted into office.
The problem at hand has very little to do with our current POTUS, stop trolling.

I align myself more with the Right, but this is horrendous and absurd.

Remember, just because some people are on the Right, doesn't mean they agree absolutely with everything the Right does.

But I wouldn't expect Looney Lefties to understand that :P

this reeks of a bunch of pinheads pitching another fit because another obama ruling (net neutrality) being overturned

You realize none of the shit that is happening would any different with Hillary.
I realize you're a moron if you believe that. There isn't a chance in hell that Hillary would have allowed this. Obama cock-blocked this move himself several times.

Republicans suck. Well republicans not named Rand Paul and Donald Trump.

Oh really?

noun
noun: fascism; noun: Fascism; plural noun: Fascisms
  1. an authoritarian and nationalistic right-wing system of government and social organization.
synonyms: authoritarianism, totalitarianism, dictatorship, despotism, autocracy; More(in general use) extreme right-wing, authoritarian, or intolerant views or practice.

What part of this dictionary definition is wrong Professor?

Yeah really, genius ... nothing which is written there has anything to do with not telling ISPs they can't sell data after putting it into their contracts.

Actually, you're looking at the opposite problem.. is it that hard to see?
You're looking at a situation where you want your government to tell non-government entities what to do, not the other way around.
They basically went full free market while there is no actual free market situation when it comes to ISPs.
So again, if you think that's a typical problem of fascism, you didn't understand what fascism is. It's a problem but one completely unrelated to fascism.

isn't this why VPNs and other proxy type situations were invented?

HRC was sending classified info from a GMAIL account (which oddly enough are blocked on all DoD government computers, not sure about SD) to her home server....

and nothing happened to her.

we'll be fine

It's unbelievable that anyone could support this. Allowing ISP to sell browsing history is basically turning stalking into a business. Republican voters rather pretend illegal immigrants picking their vegetables are a bigger affront.
Things are definitely changing and not for the better.

Once upon a time there was a basic premise around privacy and that we all deserved it. that just because your cell phone provider or auto GPS provider could potentially passively mine all your location data, they had no right to when that was not part of the service you signed up for with them.

Now the basic premise seems to be the opposite and USP's and I am sure cell phone and auto GPS services will follow suit, should be able to mine and sell for additional profit any and all of the privacy data you might not want shared simply because they can make a buck from it.

this scene from the movie Sneakers in 1992 was so fuckng prescient...

Less people clogging up the series of tubes that the internet is made of means more speed for me, win win!
