the casino for the most part is a self function system located in one place. the UFC is a cluster fuck and constant hustle and bustle and dealing with media.

and Lorenzo will never own an NFL team because a casino owner is not allowed to own a sports franchise.

Are you on mushrooms? Frank manages a billion dollar gaming company that went from an IPO to a bankruptcy deal to a buyback. They operate a dozen properties. This is a wildly demanding job.

Lorenzo would rather be an NFL owner than a sports franchise. He will also have a net worth enriched by several billion cash if this sale goes through, which is the context of our discussion. That means he can do whatever he wants with his side of the Station holdings.

Lorenzo has never expressed interest in an NFL team. That was just a rumor.

Certainly seems possible.

Unloading the UFC right now in the wake of Conor and Rousey pulling the company out of an abysmal 2014 and into a very profitable 2015 may not be repeatable for years.

It would make sense to exit now even if an NFL team wasn't eminently on the table.

Then there is the matter of getting completely divested of Station Casinos. So there are a lot of moving parts.

You might want to tell that to Jerry Jones (Cowboys owner) and Robert Kraft (Patriots owner) who both have large stakes in DraftKings

Some of the reasons that I could see "real fans" not watching would be if it were bought by a company based in a country outside the US that might make too many changes to fit a different market in the world. If it lost a large portion of its roster due to them leaving for an org based here.

These are just thoughts, and clearly big ifs. I'm mostly speaking in hypotheticals there, but they were just thoughts on possible reasons that true fans might feel less drawn. I think painting with too broad of a brush that "they never liked it anyway" may be a bit harsh or short-sighted.

But those who would check out immediately cuz they can't help but watch it if Zuffa doesn't own it are turds anyway, so I agree with you on that though.
 
got a relatively inside source that confirmed this stuff is true - dont expect to be believed but whatever, the truth will come out soon enough
