Media Renato Moicano Made $1 Million Fighting Vs Islam @ UFC 311

I don’t understand keep denying the fact these fighters get paid great. Rampage and Bisping were talking about undisclosed bonuses recently on their podcasts, Tj Dillashaw said he’s gotten bonuses off every one of his fights in the UFC aside from the Soto bout.
Apparently you don't understand the concept of revenue sharing (the UFC is arguably the worst in all of sports).

The UFC makes money hand over fist, and you have fighters on the roster literally begging for money.

In the end, it's not my money, so it's none of my business. But let's at least try to be honest.

You get paid your worth. That’s all I’m going to say. This subject is beaten to death subject. Fighters get paid great you know it and I know it. But but the revenue share, people keep comparing it to their sports like everyone in the NFL is making 200mlion when I reality most of the players 800k-5milion. Only a handful of players make that 20-30+ million.

Amusing idea to suggest fighters get paid their worth.

I'd love to see a single metric that proved that.

Why is there such a gap between fighters like Conor Mcgregor and fighters like Clay Guida? Must br because Conor has been fighting in the UFC for 20yrs am I right?

Now explain why Islam got less than half what Merab got.

Because he sucks and is boring wrestler? Remember? Like I said. Paid your worth. Merab is atleast exciting. Or or… maybe these guys get paid millions outside of the disclosed pay…like what countless of fighters has already mentioned. But we’ll never know right because people are too stubborn to believe that and we still living off fighters only making 20k/20k.

How is Merab a more exciting or more popular fighter than Islam?

Islam has ten times more followers on Insta, a far higher finish rate, a far, FAR higher finish rate at elite level, fights bigger names, etc.

Can you provide a single sensible metric? Both are called "boring wrestlers" on here at times, but Merab more so, so even rhetorically that's nonsense.

Do you watch the fights out of interest?

Seems to me the UFC knows who brings in the big bucks, that’s why Merab gets paid more. lol.

Only the IRS knows how much this guys get paid, if he got purse + bonus + Dana White Privilege Money thats cool, thats life changing money off a single fight.

I think we can dismiss that, lol, but the macro trend of Conor vs Clay is obviously true.

On a more individual and micro level, it's clearly not true that the more you bring in the more you earn because the variables knock it out the second you start thinking about it.

But generically, yes.

Funny when people though Islam made 200 k the other day. Islam probably made 2 mils.

He probably did.

But the disclosed guaranteed pay was 200 k.

Much better to have a high disclosed guaranteed pay than hope you happen to not piss off an arbitrarily angry bald goof.

Ali and Dana organized it this way to keep the other young fighters in the dark. Theres also no way in hell that Islam made less money than Merab, no way....

he made as much as PFL tournament winners made in 1 yr, in 2 minutes.

Both Merab and Islam are managed by Ali.

So is RDR.

RDR's disclosed pay was also higher than Islam's.

So I mean, that certainly wouldn't pull the wool over my eyes if I was in the UFC. I'd know I was getting shafted and I'd know that Islam's pay was likely artificially low.

So I'm not really sure what the upside is, other than that Dana could pull a tantrum at any given moment and withhold backstage bonuses.

Cormier got 4 million to defend the HW title against Derrick Lewis on a months notice.

But he was actually not training, injured and had to hustle to get ready for that one

So how much did Islam make do you guys think? 3 million? I know the commission said like 200k or something.
There isnt a way to know. He gets ppv points and other incremental deals. For SURE its more than what Moicano got.

Some of these guys training camps alone cost a millon, I have heard it said, so the money has to be several million to be worth it.
