TJ copied Dom in the gym, realized that he couldn't fight exactly like that but understood that outfighting suited him to some degree and developed a bunch of habits when it comes to switching stances and learning how to bump and angle, which isn't something unique to Cruz in combat sports he was just the first to adapt it to MMA.
Then Bang Ludwig came in and tore down a bunch of those habits made him a completely different fighter. There are some foundational aspects to his style that resemble Cruz, but their approach is completely different at this point.
He is not Cruz 2.0 he's just TJ Dillashaw.
Its like saying everyone who front kicks to the face is copying Anderson Silva. Okay maybe in some sense since he was the first to knock a dude out with it, but he didn't invent the front kick. Cruz didn't invent outfighting. At best you can say TJ, through copying Cruz early, realized that outfighting was a potentially successful fighting approach.
