Remember when MMA pwned K-1 kickboxing?

Throw any against Semmy in K-1 and see how well they do.

I hate to be rude, but this is pretty inaccurate. K1 fighters at the higher level have insane defense. They have more ko's on their record than mma fighters because they spend the whole fight striking and one mistake can end in a KO.

Boxing spends the whole fight striking and much longer bouts...

Don Frye vs Jerome Lebanner k1 rules was just wrong

Indeed. As I remember (and I think it's in one of the old fight reports in the book I'm working on), Frye took that fight on two weeks notice and had never straight done kickboxing before.

Don Frye looked like a manlet compared to JLB

I'm an even 6 feet tall. When I ran into LeBanner once in the lobby of the Shinagawa Prince Hotel, I felt tiny.

It wasn't just his size that was scary, it was the fact that a 265lb man moved as fast as he did.

Aoki on the New years Card that Duffee fought on tried to give it all back

Edit: Duffee fought Reem on

What is your point? There are heaps of KO's in boxing too. Even if boxing had a lower KO ratio - boxers don't have to worry about kicks and knees, so it is a bad analogy.

Have you watched much K1? Check out georgio petrosyan, he's one of the best defensive combat sports fighters of all time.

Lol. Damn. You're right. I don't know how I just got Botha and Abidi mixed up. I remember Rampage was saying how Abidi smelled like shit so he was trying to knock him out quick

I believe his exact words were," He smelled like plump ass!"

And watching Schilling get laid out is one of my favourite things to do. The guy comes across as the absolute epitome of arrogance in interviews and if you ever have the pleasure of speaking to him on the street... the guy is angry at the world, man.

To be fair. Badr just came off the 2008 final where he fought Aerts , Zimmerman and Bonjasky in 1 night, just a few weeks prior to dynamite.

But He cracked him good tho no doubt i was rootin for Reem
K1 forced badr to take the reem fight to "make it up to k1" for the bonjasky incident.

Something I did not take into account is that K-1 mostly revolved around heavyweights, which means higher KO ratios should be expected.

Yep. All of those guys were huge and great athletes. That's kind of what made Hunt winning the K-1 GP such a shock. But his subsequent career in kickboxing and MMA has proven that was no fluke.
