Floyd Mayweather himself is pushing for the Conor fight now. Regardless of whether there's a possibility for this match-up, or it's just smoke and mirrors, Floyd is using the name of the other main combat sports star besides him in order to stay relevant.
That's not only huge for Conor, but it's huge for MMA.
For the sake of the sport, fans should be supporting McGOAT all the way in his upcoming matchup with Nate Diaz.
Conor winning = conor becoming even more famous = more propagation of MMA as a sport = more people training MMA = higher chances of having new stars in the sport = good news for MMA fans.
Realistically, I see this matchup happening in 5+ years.
An aging Floyd Mayweather with less chin, speed, and boxing reflexes, vs. a technically sloppy boxer (by boxing standards) in Conor with a good chin and KO power. The more time passes & the more Floyd ages, Conor's chances increase against Floyd.
