Remember when Fitch stole a win from BJ Penn!?

Well, I can't speak for fighters in general, but for Penn, I think he just never thought he lost any fight no matter what. He cried robbery in the 2nd Edgar fight I think. The only fight he "really" lost was the time he quit after the 4th round against GSP (but of course had a ton of excuses there, too). Well, that and the last fight with Edgar.

How about Hughes smashing his head into the canvas in the 2nd fight? He didn't "really lose" that one?

didnt Fitch break the single round strike record in the 3rd?

Blame BJ for being out of shape

I thought the other guy was screwed by Judges for not being able to take home W.

They say BJ's biggest problem is cardio, well, how about his guard game? People never doubt Mundial champion's Jiu-Jitsu, but BJ is an old style grappler from the last century and his guard/sweep game should be updated to take on and beat top MMA fighters of today. He used to say he wanted to compete at ADCC but he hasn't. There is a reason why.

Who said that they weren't losses?

The Hughes loss is clearly a loss, there is no denying that - it counts.

What I'm saying is BJ Penn had no business fighting at 170, especially against elite level 170lb fighters - St. Pierre and Hughes.

It's commendable that he fought those guys, as well as Renzo and Lyoto.

It's like Serra, you really going to shit on him for losing to GSP, hell no!? But the fact he put him away! Come on, he deserves HUGE props. Same thing applies with Penn. You can't honestly sit there and act like losing to Hughes is surprising, he had no business in trashing him twice, but he did!

How did 6% of people NOT score that first round for BJ????

Not sure if serious. The answer to your question was right there, in the person I replied to. lol

BJ himself said the draw was a gift from God.

He was heavily concussed and said he tasted copper for weaks.
Cannot remember hearing this, but if so - I think he was being a little harsh on himself like always.

BJ won 2 rounds of that fight, 3rd round wasn't this brutal beatdown that people are now pitching it as.

Read your post back, and ask yourself if that makes any sense or if grammar means anything.

I'm not being rude, it's just that it felt your post meant something - but I was unable to decipher it.

I remember watching back then I thought Fitch won the 2nd round, and should have gotten the nod for the fight. Would have to go back and watch.

It was a legit 10-8 round, that's the saddest I've seen BJ after a fight and wish he would have retired right then and there.

Jon Fitch went full beast mode on him that last round and beat him down after BJ actually out wrestled him the first two.

i remember fitch should have won and bj admitting he lost in the post fight interview
