Leaking something that was going to be publicly reported in a few hours was not good reporting, it was an obvious dog move for publicity and nothing more. He deserved the hate for it.

He knew what would happen if he leaked it,and that it would be announced later that night. THis aint the NBA NFL or MLB.

Difference is UFC is much like the WWE than it is like the NBA, NFL, or MLB. The way Dana acted is definitely inline with how Vince McMahon would have if one of his big reveals was leaked.

Ariel cant play stupid. He knew he was fuckin them over when he did that. There would be hell to pay,etc. Just like when sherdog leaked TUF and got banned from events.

If I’m not mistaken Ariel leaked it an hour or 2 before UFC officially released the advertisement for Brock coming back. It was at UFC 199 when Brock comes into the screen and punches in front of the camera.
Also there is conflicting stories bc he said he was given the okay to announce it.

He was doing his job. The media isn't supposed to work for the promoters. Although I highly suspect many of them do whatever the UFC tells them too. Ariel is the most high profile name in MMA media. Most main stream sports media could care less about MMA. It's Ariels priority and full time gig. Stories like that get leaked all the time in other sports. The UFC just has such a stranglehold on the MMA landscape and it's media that Dana/UFC can get away with most anything they want to do.

I’m Not a fan of Ariel, but the fact that most people back the UFC on this instead of him explains the state of US media today

Brock Lesnar fighting at UFC 200 isn't a story. it's just a reveal that he revealed before the UFC was able to.

there's no story, that's literally ALL the information in the headline. if it was about a story, the real story was that Brock Lesnar will be fighting roided up with a USADA exemption with the UFC's knowledge, but Ariel didn't jump on that did he?

To this day I don’t get why it was such a big deal.. Dana just wanted it to come out of his loud mouth. It didn’t change anything.

It was a dirtbag move. ariel at that point was leaking fights 10 mins before every announcement just to spite ufc
