Remember last time when Stipe was the underdog against Ngannou?

The funny thing is Francis hasn't shown any improvement since that fight and has fought his way to a title in the exact same way again.
when was he an underdog? Francis won for good reason.

Francis has literally gotten worse in his striking. Wild and reckless. I have no reason to believe Stipe puts on another clinic in him.

better matchup
Ah, strongly stronnnngggly disagree. I don’t even know what would make you say that. Stipe is a better striker than volkov, better boxer than Gane and a way better wrestler than both

I guess the point to this is that teh casualz under-estimated Brother Stipe.

I was not one of them... in fact, I called it almost exactly like it played out on post #8 during the lead up to that fight.

I'm not trying to make myself out as some kind of profit... but ffs, I got that one right so give me a fooking attaboy on that one at the least.

If Stipe is smart he will do the exact same thing. From what we can see it doesn't look like Francis is working on his cardio, which was his main problem. All the videos of his training are weight lifting and boxing.
To be fair a video of him jogging down the road doesn't sound too intriguing.

actually he did make adjustments

in 1st fight he made a mistake of chasing after stipe.

all he gotta go is slowly corner him and with a smaller cage it would help him more

Regardless of how "despacito" Francis is determined to go, if he hasn't learned how not to bite on feints he'll still chase....or else be frozen into indecision like against Lewis.

Annihilated... nevermind dude. You're impossible.
Look at the fight. Look at the stats. Stipe absolutely owned him, you know this, so stop acting like you don’t just cuz you got a problem with me lol

stipe had good gameplan and stuck with it, while its obvious ngannou underestimated him in the 1st fight

in 2nd ngannou puts him out in 1st

volkov and perhaps gane are the only true challenger for ngannou in top 10

Yea, Ngannou has really grown his game. He now has way better cardio and ground game. He can defend the TD and he's not afraid to grapple with anyone.

Who was actually hurt in that fight? Not who was gassed.

There is no reason to believe this fight will go any other way than the first one. Ngannou has a punchers chance but Stipe should be the heavy favourite

It's always hard for people to really be 100% on Stipe and I don't know why that is

Part of it is that Stipe isn't great anywhere. Ngannou is. Stipe is very well-rounded, but neither a truly great striker or a great wrestler. He's a good enough wrestler to outwrestle guys like Ngannou, and a good enough striker to outstrike guys like Werdum.

Imo, another part of why people don't buy into Stipe despite his obvious success is that he's a lot smaller than a guy like Ngannou. He's smallest HW champ since Couture.

edit: or it could be just this:
The real answer to the question is that sherbros tend to fall in love with flashy fighters and shit talkers, while quiet killers like Stipe, or Yan for example tend to fly under the radar and get underestimated.
