Remember how stupid the Merab-Simon stoppage was?

His leg was still kicking after the fight was stopped. He was not in control of his body.
Further to my other post he keeps kicking his legs after the fight is stopped. He is definitely out...
Yes, because he lacked oxygen and was on autopilot. Maybe ten seconds more and he would be completely out, but he wasn't. You are done or you are not done.
There's nothing between unless we are talking about twitching which isn't the case.

If he was so lacking of oxygen he couldn't control his body he got choked out. Otherwise every person who tries to take down the ref was still in the fight and it's an earlly stoppage. Trust me in the fact that I am on the side of later stoppages, but if you finish the fight with your arms splayed to the side and are unable to not stop kicking your legs, you went out enough for the fight to stop. That's a good stoppage every day of the week.

There are a lot of times when fighters cannot control their movement during the fight. E.g. they got stunned, their cavs are thrashed or they got some kind of injury.
But just because they look like each of their limb has separate brain, doesn't mean they are done. He wasn't completely out, he wasn't twitching and for me it's like getting clipped hard.
For a moment you don't know where you are, but you are still moving. Few seconds later and you are back and rolling. But I guess we can agree to disagree ;)

Merab was out. It's pretty obvious from the gif where he was vacantly staring at the ceiling and not responding for about 2 seconds or so after Simon let go of the choke. You can clearly see when merab was able to get some oxygen back to the brain and become roused again. Not controversial at all

Look at this gif and tell me he was capable of continuing.
Damn, looks like he nearly drowned. Not like he would've provided much resistance even if the ref did hilariously let it continue.

We definitely disagree. This isn't someone being rocked. It's a guy losing enough oxygen to his brain to go out in a situation the ref can catch it. The ref has to call it a stoppage by the rules. Same with KZ vs Yair. Ref stopped the fight as the bell went because KZ was out. If it was Herb Dean and he was on the other side of the cage completely out of position it wouldn't have changed the result.

I mean...KZ was knocked the fuck out. Merab wasn't chocked the fuck out. That's the difference for me.

"Continue" as in "not get involved" rather than "keep fighting". It'd be difficult to look at him lying on the ground in that state and then declare him the winner.
He was standing up immediately, but they didn't let him. But after some time he was on the cage anyway, lol.

After the salt-on-muscle spasm looking display, sure. Depends on how you see these types of decisions after rounds, or the entire fight.

What do you mean? He was intelligently defending himself by presenting to distract Yair whilst he recovered from getting dropped. It's on par with the Merab bicycle defence to show he was still in the fight whilst being choked. Merab was just lying there star fished with one leg twitching because he did most of his road work on a bicycle for this camp.
Next time he can try this..or he could actually defend the choke intelligently and not go out.

Apples and oranges and his leg wasn't twitching, but ok.

He was out. It wasn’t clear on the first viewing, but is pretty obvious from the replay and how he acted after the fight. His leg was simply twitching at the end. He snapped back momentarily there but was clearly not with it when he tried to stand up. You really think a fighter that is fine is going to lay there like that at the end of a fight? They didn’t ‘force’ him down. He was out of it and couldn’t stand up straight.

Should have tried harder to escape that position instead of just laying there kicking at the air.

It wasn't a twitch and they literally stopped him from getting up.
