that was sort of what I was going for - the whole judeo christian thing
Yea, I was agreeing with you. Also I would like to know what the book or TS thinking about Buddhism or Confucianism. Are those dangerous to the advancement of society?
I can't read stuff like this though. I just finished reading a book by Fareed Zakaria that was amazing in the amount of content it contained per chapter. He addresses a problem, shows statistics, factual evidence and events which show it is a problem, addresses what the central root cause of the problem might be, and gives multiple solutions from himself and other credible institutions on the matter. The amount of citations and resources he uses is amazing.
Then I look at the top sellers for "journalism" and its guys like Sean Hannity, a guy who makes an entire book ranting exessive bullshit, looking to divide people, stir up anger, and make every single issue fit perfectly into an ideology. It's very discouraging to see this.
I notice this often with the religious/anti-religious debates as well. All it looks to do is try to demonize the other side through generalizations and poor constructed arguments. If people were really concerned about the advancement of the world, they would be more constructive like Zakaria rather than wasting time on rhetoric and blaming all the worlds problems on one thing.
