Shaq just signs with them.
Vlade Divac gets traded for Kobe fucking Bryant
Fleeced Pau Gasol from the Grizzlies for peanuts
Fleeced the Hornets for Chris Paul (but Stern vetoes)
Now Luka

Divac was traded because they just got Shaq in free agency though. No one at that time knew how Kobe was going to do he wasn't even a lottery pick.

Pau Gasol was mainly traded for his brother Marc. Not as bad as it initially was at the time.

The Paul failed trade still makes me mad lol

Lets hope we pull off another one in the upcoming weeks

I am not sure what you are implying here, but if it's that I'm some sort of conspiracy theorist, so be it. This is a ridiculous trade, and of course, it has to benefit the Lakers of all teams. It is gonna take a lot to convince me this was teams just looking to do a trade to benefit each team.

He has detonated the franchise. Think about this, Kyrie and Klay came to Dallas specifically to play with Luka. I can't see either of them staying for long. AD is a big market player, he will never be happy in Dallas. Nico has detonated a franchise that just went to the Finals. He says the Mavs will be able to compete going forward but I don't see how, the big name players in Dallas will not resign. Kyrie, Klay, and AD will be gone wihtin 1-2 seasons, if not sooner.

I think he detonated the franchise. Kyrie and Klay are specifically in Dallas to play with Luka. I don't see either of them staying now. This entire franchise is going to be a ghost town, ticket sales and every other kind of sales are going to plummet by the end of the year if not immediately because Luka is not a normal player. I'm not overselling this, the people of Dallas love Luka Doncic. Nico will be a pariah. He killed the franchise probably for a decade with this move. Its inconceivable.

How I feel it went down:

-Luka demanded a trade

-Mavs were fishing for better offers

-Luka only wanted the Lakers and forced them into a horrible deal.

According to Wendy, Tim McMahon, and other ESPN insiders Luka didn't even know about it and did not demand a trade. What is really hard to comprehend is that if you are going to trade Luka, why do it for basically nothing, AD and a 2029 1st? It makes no sense at any level.

That’s only because the Mavs have a deep / solid team, and L.A.’s roster is all over the shop.. as well as the fact that LeBron’s is 40.

Its going to put PJ Washington in a sticky spot since AD is taking his job. PJ has been playing really well in particularly the last month.

Lakers won tonight without AD against the Knicks at home which is a great win. Lakers have a much better chance in the playoffs with Luka now but I don't think it'll be enough right now. Hopefully they make another trade and go for Jimmy or a big.

Luka elevates all those guys, they have no one like him now, not even close

That shit doesn't even make sense. Luka is 25 and just went to the Finals. Many of the best players in history didn't even start winning rings until they were 27 or older. This has to be the worst trade in history because not only did the Mavs almost give Luka away, Luka IS Dallas basketball, it murders the franchise. If Nico Harrison thinks things are going to go smooth from here, he is high AF. This trade makes him instantly hated in Dallas, forever.

Probably is a death knell for the franchise but what is so F'ing weird is it didn't have to happen or even need to happen. This season the Mavs have the best roster they have had in my lifetime with the only challenger being the 2011 Mavs. Why in God's name would anyone make this trade?
