Ok I’ll be completely honest since you asked for it lol. My unpopular (and irrelevant) opinion is that if I met someone who had one fight and lost and never dedicated themselves professionally to fighting for any extended period, as in making a living, at least part time, out of it, or tried having a lifestyle largely geared towards attaining that goal some day, at some point in their lives, then no, I wouldn’t consider that they are/were professional fighters. At the same time I admit that I don’t really know what it takes to get licensed for those. Can any hobbyist sign up, or is there some special amateur record or other requirement? Anyway, I’m not saying it’s wrong or douchy, just not the way I personally understand it in my head. I still think it’s a really cool thing to have done and to be proud of and respected for, and amateur fights are still fights. Really lay people’s opinions shouldn’t matter that much to you though, including mine.
