Saw him train not too long ago (earlier this year in Paris), he was showing some combos, hitting pads and some sparring. He still trains actively and is in shape, does quite a bit of conditioning and weight lifting. He's still very technical and hits like a truck. The only thing is of course age catching up so speed and cardio is trickier when you're that big and muscly even when you train a lot. But it's not like they went to fetch some old school heavyweight who's overweight and been sitting on the couch drinking. He would still give any heavyweight who's not top5 a run for their money.

I am more afraid of Zimmerman with 1 knee destroying the other guy. Zimmerman should have been a career Cruiserweight or Light heavyweight imo, he looked insane at that lower weight. But maybe the other guy gets a finish.

I'm struggling to remember a worse GP lineup.

In all fairness it was never going to be at the same level as the 70kg Max tournament. Glory has a pretty tight strangle hold on most of the top hw talent.

Liu Ce and the qualification tournament winners are solid, so it won't be a total shit show.

Honestly this upcoming Max card is looking way better anyway. A quality 55kg world max final, an 8-man tournament for the vacant -65kg title, and fights for the Cruiserweight and Featherweight titles.

I figure that it will probably take a couple more years of finding talent and developing a partnership with other promotions before we see a true to form k-1 wgp final. That's assuming K-1 can keep it together.
