Recent fights/results/news from Japan II

I'd rather that K1 focus on the weight classes where they have talent, it's a pet peeve of mine with Glory in that they stretch themselves too thin with the amount of weight classes they have.

I still think they eff'd up by stretching to 8 divisions instead of keeping it at 3. Back when they were doing 3 events, they could afford to do an annual tournament for each division along with fillers like Japan tournaments and Survival Wars to build divisions.

Now we have 8 divisions vs. 5-6 events per year. That means

1. Almost half of the divisions won't be getting an annual tournament
2. At 6 superfights (excl. tournaments) per event, there's only 30-40 superfights per year across those 8 divisions. That's hardly enough to build the divisions, especially since most of those are going to be title bouts

K-1 needs to push itself to do 10 events per year or dramatically up the level of Krush to handle divisional sorting for its K-1 roster.

Ozawa Kaito has been spending the last few days just "liking" every post that mentions that he would be a good opponent for Tenshin.

Some dude took an informal twitter poll asking who would be the best opponent for Tenshin. It now has +1200 votes and Ozawa is in the lead with the majority. Koji follows with ~30% then Naito and Murakoshi (both RISE fighters).

Politically I don't see it happening, but it would be a great fight for both.

March 21st K-1 Saitama Super Arena Main Arena.

60kg title match: Taiga vs Takeru III
62.5kg title match: Wei Rui vs Koya Urabe
65kg title match: Noiri Masaaki vs Yamato Tetsuya
67.5kg title match: Kubo Yuta vs Melsik Baghdasaryan

65kg Superfight: Kaew Weerasakrek vs Hiramoto Ren

Confirmed. Expect Allazov and Takei fights to follow.

Disappointed by the lack of Mohan Dragon.
Kimura was gunning for the Kubo fight, but then tweeted that he would put it up to a fan vote to decide who he needs to beat before he gets the title shot. Presumably that means its Mohan Dragon vs Phillip Kimura time.

Not allowed before they do Mohan Dragon vs. Yi Long Dragon in China goddamn it!

was hoping Exakoustidis get his title shot, but can't complain about another Taiga vs Takeru first I guess.

The last time Yamato vs. Noiri fought was a slugfest, but under muay thai rules. great to see they finally rematch.

Noiri-Yamato 2 is going to be fireworks

Yamato still loking good on KB rules,he knocked the hell out of Nakazawa who is a pretty good opponent

Japanese KB does a lot of shady things but giving Pornsanae fights in 2017 has gotta be pretty high up there

EDIT:

Ogasawara continuing to show Kohi levels of talent combined with career ruining IQ,

Gonnapar vs Rukiya bitches! Wooooo

The only downside is that this is a title eliminator for the Krush 63kg championship so that Sasaki Daizo has to fight one of them. I don't see him surviving.

thats a fight to make Rukiya climb even more on the 63kg division

I hope he faces the winner of Rui-Koya somehow

fuck that Pornsanae fight was depressing to watch. and Ogasawara's brawls are always entertaining. Knock Out is a really fun org.

If you're looking for brawls to the death you really can't bet on a better org to produce them

oh yeah no doubt. I'm not especially into asian women but their ring girls are on another level.
They put out a 360 video of one of their ring girls learning kickboxing lol

Purchasing Oculus Rift ASAP

These Japanese KO girls defy laws of physics. Where did all that TNA come from?
