Rebecki CTE speedrun

Both dudes in that fight took potentially career and honestly long-term health altering beatings. Amazing fight and when it's at a championship level and they're making a ton of money that's one thing, but honestly it kinda sucks watching jobbers take beatings like that.

He can always do PowerSlap if UFC doesn’t work out
#PowerSlap honestly safer ji 🩴💥

Never taking hundreds of brain strike in training and fight 😐 train defense with pool noodle only, leave damage for battle only 3 blow maximum if not flinching 👍🏾

If drinking milk, Waheguru bless with natural strength maybe even become champion by next year, haanji 💪🏾🥛🐄

Those aren't real numbers.
Those numbers look like the UFC sponsors pay or media pay or something. Definitely not actual fight purse numbers. But the fight purse numbers probably aren't going to wow anyone either.

When guys still choose to fight when they are not really good and are taking that kind of damage while getting paid pennies, it becomes painfully obvious they have no skills or smarts outside of fighting.

That 50k bonus and future UFC earnings won't be enough for a full-time employee.

UFC on ESPN 56 last year:

Diego Ferreira: $11,000

def. Mateusz Rebecki: $4,500

Career Disclosed Earnings:$100,000 USD

So he is making more off the bonus than his fight purse.

<Y2JSmirk> Brain damage bonus.
That's where the big money is.

Edit:

$4,500 ... ?

That's can't be real.
I thought 10/10 has been the lowest pay for the last 10 years or more. Even that is rare and the 12/12 seems more common for entry level

4500 dollars insane for a beatdown. Then yku get taxed on it. A full time mcdonalds employee literally makes more. These dudes are sub minimum wage

$4500 for a professional athlete in the highest league tells you something is seriously wrong with this sport.....
That's not his paycheck, it's either the pay for in-house sponsors UFC has (like the infamous reebok payouts) or @jeskola pulled it out of his ass.

Notice how the Ferreira payout he claimed is also wildly inaccurate.

I haven't heard of anyone getting less than 12/12 in a long time and you gotta go way way way back, like before TUF if I recall to see anything below 10k base show pay for a UFC fight

I think guys like him and Garbrandt get hit and are returning fire before it even registers that they're bailing on the game plan
I dont think Cody has all his sparks firing anymore. He prob shouldn't take much more head trauma.

Serious MMA trivia time: has anyone taken more damage in 3 straight fights than Rebecki in the ufc?

I'd hate to see a fourth. All respect to him for being game though, dude dgaf

The sword tat over the eye all but confirms this imo 😁

Yeah it's more than just his chin being gone, at his best he was very reliant on quick reflexes and exchanging in the pocket.
He doesn't trust himself to exchange like that anymore, but he still tries to fight that way.

And it's that half step of indecision that sees him get beat to the punch. It's too big of a hole in that style to fix at this point

"Game plan"

What's the game plan?

"Go smash that guy"

Plan B " THAT guy, over there. Go fucking smash him."

Gives me BJ Vs GSP 2 vibes. When BJ was getting beaten to a pulp and his corner's advice between rounds was "KILL HIM !!"

It always makes me sad when a fighter is losing and they need technical instruction and their corner says "kick his ass"

Like... shit. Why didn't I think of that!?! Thanks coach!!

One of my biggest pet peeves too. The best advice is typically accurate and succinct, very clearly conveyed while the fighter catches their breath.
All the rest is mostly empty and repetitive tough talk, begging their fighter to please just go for it, or reminding them of where they come from lol

Always some permutation of an appeal to ego or openly praying for a win since they're out of ideas.

That's not his purse. He's not paid as well as he should be but he's paid more than that. Maybe that's the Venum money for that fight or something.

I hear this criticism a lot but I think the coach knows their fighter and what motivates them. Sometimes even very high level coaches who you've heard give out fantastic technical advice before are telling fighters "think of your family" and shit like that in-between rounds. Some fighters just don't take technical instructions in during the heat of a fight I don't think.

Thats gonna take a lot of work.

Guy seems to have Honer simpson skull.

He would be better off getting sparked.

Last night was not the first time I have seen him take excessive damage that swole his face and head to unrecognizable proportions and kept fighting. Last Nighy dude had an eye swollen shut and the ET Joanna Champion head balloon, and face covered in blood.

And his opponent was bleeding like crazy in R3 too.
That fight was awesome, should have been on a PPV
