Reason why Tate lost? You guys tell me your opinion!

Caraway checking Miesha's carotid artery for a pulse. Awful weight cut.
100% her own fault

She may have had a bad weight cut and all that but she lost mainly for the most basic reason of all...speed.

Miesha has shown many things in there, pretty well rounded, good cardio, mental toughness, but she's not that fast.

If she gets out of that round it could have been different but there was such a large speed and power difference that Nunes just ran her over.

No need for a complicated breakdown. Nunes is a much better athlete.

She's just not that good.

Poor preparation and poor striking.

Like 99% of WMMA athletes, she's just not very good at MMA. Roxanne Modaferri fought in the UFC for chrissakes.

Oh, I know, "TATE COULD BEAT UR ASS BRO". Settle down, Beavis. She's a PE teacher pretending to be Bo Jackson.

all of her training went out the window once her face got punched

Yea nothing in that fight surprised other than her quitting. I'm used to see Miesha get her ass kicked in a fight what I'm not used to seeing is her giving up. I figured something like this would happens except she would survive the initial blitz and take over in the later rounds. That'd didn't happen.

Standup was exposed hard. Was a matter of time.

No one ever is paying attention to her atrocious standup. It's laughable.

You realize that Tate was up two rounds to none when she got caught by those knees from Cat right?

At any rate, she just isn't a capable enough striker to attack without being countered easily, or even manage to survive on the feet as Brock did against Hunt.

Ya...Tate has heart..but look at her striking vs Nunes. She looked like an amateur. It blows my mind how few kicks the BW ladies throw.

Tate has always been overrated and so has her toughness, she quit easier than any other female UFC champion.

I agree TS. I think her weight cutting drained her (don't think she's ever had to weigh in naked) and she was cutting right to the last moment. I think Tate was living a bit in the limelight too much. Getting booked for Conan, showing off her bikini bod in Embedded, etc. Also, she seemed distracted by the prospect that Ronda wanted to come back now because she has already beat Tate twice.

That walk in was very suspect. She seemed nervous like Holly was in her fight against Ronda. The whole battle cry screech was definitely to psyche herself up.

I think she set up her takedown poorly and was discouraged after her shot failed.

Then Nunes blitzed her and Tate couldn't recover.
Glad you didn't take the "oh she lost via RNC route" fucking dumbasses on this forum I swear.

Yes, the weight cut was shocking, I really should have lumped the money on Nunes but I was so ill over the weekend I didn't even catch the card live, other than the co and main.

Happy for Amanda, she looked fantastic.

Just another wake up call to the champions, you have to act like a champion, don't just bask in the fame.

That's a very good point, speed was a huge factor.

She just isn't that good, she got lucky against Holmes, I reckon Holmes wins that 7 or 8 times out of ten. Women generally aren't that good at handling pressure either, a lot more pressure when you are the champ compared to a challenger. Holmes probably choked a little bit with her very cautious outing against Tate and Tate choked big time as champ with her display against Nunes.

Hit. In. Face. Multiple. Times.

Don't know if that was the actual cards but I don't remember thinking that, I thought I had it 1-1.

If it wasn't 1-1 that final round was going towards 10-8 territory off of the beating she was taking.

My point is, if a girl who can actually strike i.e. Nunes and Zingano, blitz her and goes for the kill, she has been shown to wilt. If someone who is in their league or even above it, like Holly did the same she probably would have done the same, but she was passive because she doesn't have the confidence on the ground like Cat and Amanda.

Didn't really "get lucky" thought did she?

Nothing lucky about landing a takedown and choking someone unconscious.

These Brazilian Women are athletic and explosive.

Like Bethe was? Women's MMA as a whole is only starting to catch up. You'll likely see good athletes from all nationalities start to emerge in the next 5 years.

Nunes really stormed out the gate, I think that took her by surprise

she made her self ill and weak with a dumb weight cut. She didn't cut weight over time and tried to do it all at once and paid the price. A 100% Miesha may of lost round 1 but would of subbed her round 2 and it wouldn't of been tough.
