Realistically, Strickland has 0% chance, right?

Izzy definitely gonna be a heavy favorite in this figth.
But I can see Strickland upsetting here.
- He doesn't check kicks very often, but overall he have very good defensive striking.
- Izzy have a very unorthodox style, maybe another unorthodox can gave him some problems.
- Leg kicks can be heavy countered by straight crosses, if Strickland land one with good timing he even need to put much power.

Realistically speaking, I think 70/30 Izzy is fair, maybe 75/25

Sean would jab Izzys head constantly atleast, he wouldn't do bad as you all think and he should wrestle Izzy too if he has just little sub game he may sub Izzy
Sean will never wrestle anyone

sean's jab is good but there ain't much else to threat izzy. especially considering izzy will most likely run circles around him while destroying his lead leg, taking away all the power. sean's "footwork" ain't working in this one. i give him a 10-5% chance being honest, he's got very good attributes but it's a bad match up. izzy could get the ko, too.

Can we just stop with the no chance bulllhsit. Just the other week ddp had no chance. Its unlikely but Stickland can win

History has shown the only way to beat Adesanya is either by wrestlefuck or KO... Outpointing him is practically impossible, especially when there is no KO/Grappling threat... Strickland style of high volume jab point fighting will never work, he'll keep his distance and destroy his legs for 5 rounds. Terrible matchup.
.
No. Looking at Strickland's other fights, and his comfort while exchanging, this is frankly a bad matchup for Izzy. Izzy has a low output and relies on keeping distance, while Strickland is rly good at keeping cool and pressuring, seeing the shots coming and tiring fighters out by their missed shots. Israel's striking output isn't very high. For all the good striking Izzy does, he got outstruck by Jan, and even outboxed by Yoel. He's definitely not some masterclass boxer.

Watch Strickland be to Izzy as Weidman to Silva...

Lets hope sir.

Outside of a lucky strike Izzy doesn’t see he has no shot.

The only interesting thing will be the trash talk. Sean doesn't have the wrestling or KO power to cause Izzy any problems.

Anything can happen, but I'd say that this is as close to 0% as they come. Strickland isn't particularly good and he's a point fighter. I don't see how he can beat Adesanya unless it's a fluke win like Serra vs GSP, though Serra had a far better shot at beating GSP than Adesanya.

he has about a good a chance as whittaker IMO

Even though I don't really care for strickland or his fights I'd have no problem with a guy like that being a title holder. He fights often and ducks no one. Which is why i respect the isreal title reign so much

The activity nobody can argue with honestly.

Btw is this fight now official? I haven’t heard of it being official yet. I think everyone agrees the ddp fight is a bigger fight and better matchup. But from what the media heads are saying is ddp won’t be ready for the Sydney card which is when they want izzy to fight so that is why Strickland is being pushed to the front.

My sentiments exactly. Outside of a lucky strike Izzy doesn’t see, virtually no other way Sean can win that.

If that fight happens I wonder what the odds are going to be? Probably Izzy -800?
