Realistically, Strickland has 0% chance, right?

Remember that Strictland was dumb enough to stand trade with a world class kick boxer once before, and that didn't end well.

It's about as bad of a matchup as it gets.

Izzy will easily chop those legs in the first three minutes, and even if Strickland can avoid getting dropped early (which I doubt), it'll only be a matter of time.

Izzy will just have way too much freedom to pick his shots and set Strickland up badly, Strickland will always struggle against elite strikers because he doesn't take initiative with his grappling and his defense is very suspect against guys who mix it up at three levels and don't respect his punching power.

I'll put it this way, even Korean Zombie had a better chance of beating Volk than this. Maybe Sean can survive all 5 rounds, but Izzy will train for months to exploit Sean's stance.

page after page of 'it's mma, anything can happen.'

yes, you're right, it's a bad stylistic matchup for him.

There's always a chance.

But, in Strickland's case, that chance is small.

History has shown the only way to beat Adesanya is either by wrestlefuck or KO... Outpointing him is practically impossible, especially when there is no KO/Grappling threat... Strickland style of high volume jab point fighting will never work, he'll keep his distance and destroy his legs for 5 rounds. Terrible matchup.
Izzy going to kick his legs like batting practice..it will be very hard to see that because of how easily he will do it...then tee off Sean's head...unless Sean gets a take down which could be his win...hard to see that...Izzy foot work vs Sean is night and day...I don't see this as a close fight but maybe I am missing something..but I don't see it....I look forward to Sean talking crap though..lol

I mean it’s MMA so any pro ufc fighter has a chance. But in a case like this is is extremely small. It’s a bad match up all around for him. We have seen so many ufc fights from both guys we have a great idea of who they are in the cage and where they are at in their careers. I just don’t see anything where asean has the edge in anything. I don’t have anything against Sean but I just don’t see him winning this realistically. Maya e a flash ko? That’s about it.

He doesn't have the ko power like Alex to stop him.
He doesn't have the grappling acumen or size to wrestlefuck him like Jan

But no, he has a chance. It's about 1%

Don't forget that Stricky has triggered Izzy almost in the way how Conor did against Aldo.

Mental Warfare could make Izzy lose his temper and go for a KO

Nah

And excuse me but Yushin Okami was never a big MW.

Fought half his career at WW never missing weight.

Weighted-in at soft 200lbs with clothes on for a week-notice LHW bout vs OSP.

A below average MW by today standards.

Huge head though

Not particularly excited about this matchup as it seems like an easy win for Israel

I do like Strickland though he’s a funny guy and a solid fighter, just don’t see him bringing anything dangerous to Izzy

I wouldn’t bet $100 to Adesanya to win $13.

Nor would I bet $100 on homeboy to win $450.

Bookies will love this one.
