Completely different styles and skill sets. He's nothing like Pettis.
slightly better hands, worse kicks, similar lack of TDD except with a worse ground game. RDA runs through him.

Whole lot of this. Ferguson is a lot grittier than Pettis I find.
Tony has very slightly better hands, a more innovative ground game, and is more of a forward pressure kind of fighter. Both have a lethal guard (Pettis's Armbar is still a thing of beauty,) and Pettis is a bit more defensively solid, but that's where the similarities end. Ferguson isn't afraid to initiate the ground game no matter the situation, while Pettis rarely initiates it.slightly better hands, worse kicks, similar lack of TDD except with a worse ground game. Pettis focuses on using his space to land his kicks and work his opponent with them, while Tony pressures his opponent with his jab and cross. RDA doesn't run through Ferguson. If anything, a fight with them would be more interesting than the Pettis rematch due to RDA and Ferguson both having great cardio, suited for a fast paced fight. If Alvarez beats Pettis, we'll hopefully get to see that Ferguson/RDA fight come to fruition.
RDA was probably at his peak or very, very close to it when he fought Khabib, he was on a 6 fight win streak with the win before fighting Khabib, being over Cerrone.
Disagree entirely. Pettis is way slicker on the ground than Tony. He's proven it time and time again. Even in his UFC debut he was neutralizing Guida's ground game, then he went on to submit Bendo and Gil. You're underrating him because of the RDA fight, but Tony would have absolutely nothing for RDA. Getting Barboza in a darce choke isn't that meaningful since Barboza isn't an accomplished grappler.
And the fact that Tony is more willing to initiate the ground game only means that he will be on the ground for a longer period of time. Against a guy who is much better than him at grappling.

Ferguson is nothing like Pettis. What are u talking about?Ferguson is no challenge. He's a less talented version of Pettis.
Ferguson has the best D'Arce choke in MMA (can hit it from like 5422645 different angles, like an RKO) and trains BJJ under Eddie Bravo. I'd say his ground game is at the very least on par with Pettis. Setting that aside, Ferguson came in as a wrestler, and IIRC he KO'd everyone in the TUF house en route to becoming champ. So adding to arguably his strongest suit now (his wicked jits game), he already has a solid wrestleboxer base, and has been working some nice kicks into his arsenal too.
I'd take El Cucuy over Pettis but that would honestly be a pick'em. Both guys are top 5 in the most stacked division in the UFC so no matter what if that bout happened I'd jizz
