1. Smashing Pumpkins - My favorite band growing up, I met them in the late 90s.
2. STP - I saw them many times in concert, always great. Atlanta is a very underrated song.
3. Jane's Addiction - I like Dave's guitar playing and they have some good songs
4. Radiohead - Never got into them

He has some awesome material. His voice sounds like cats fucking, though.
My friend who is a rock/metal vocalist from Cuba did a cover of Bullet With Butterfly Wings and it sounded just awesome. But his voice is lower and has a badass fry.

Mustaine sounds somewhat similar to me in that aspect. Also we have a Russian singer Ilia Lagutenko who also sounds like a horny cat.

Yes, Dave is primarily nasal, but sometimes he howls as well. Sometimes he sounds more normal and I like it, like in Blood of Heroes.
