Media Rarest/Most Exotic Submissions in the UFC/MMA (gif heavy)

I feel like I remember a longer version of this amazing gif where you see that he’s eating a banana...

am I crazy?
Dont remember, it´s been a long time since I watched Chow Yun´s early movies in HK, John Woo´s...

Isn't it absolutely unbelievable that this has happened more than once?

Some classic Tom Erickson right there.

I believe there was a time when people were legitimately afraid to fight him.

Vitaly Bigdash vs Yuki Niimura

interesting sub- sherdog has it listed as a reverse triangle shoulder lock

'stamped↓

Quality post. If only i could come up with a quality reply.

I can’t find it, but George Sotiropoulos put a guy in a bicep slicer to soften him so he could snag an armbar. Was always really impressed by that.

So I was walking the dog the other night and started a list of rare mma submissions and was wondering if anybody wanted to help me expand/correct it

I'm not including standard versions of things like straight armbars, triangles, anaconda/brabos, guillotines, RNCs, arm triangles or heel hooks. I will include some of the preceding subs if they are applied with an interesting setup like a flying armbar...

I don't really have any criteria for submissions to qualify as rare, except for them not appearing on the list above. Not looking at any numbers/stats to help decide what's what...

these can be subs that might have not actually happened yet in mma competition, but are theoretically possible as outcomes in an mma fight, eg no collar chokes or w/e. Also includes some subs that might not still be legal in modern competition.

I'm not a bjj practitioner btw, as some of you might be able to tell. I just find submissions in general to be fascinating. Please correct me where I inevitably get things wrong

here's what I've got so far, with gifs when I can find em↓

bulldog choke looks awesome ngl

I had missed this one from last year

Ishii with a leg scissors choke submission

I feel like this one, along with the teepee choke, is a bit of a bummer to get caught in

his opponent, Rokas Stambrauskas, has also tapped to a forearm choke

somewhere, Kim Couture bristles

Guys - wasn't there a fight lately where a dude landed an inverted triangle? It was rather beautiful. Anyone know about it? I forget so quickly nowadays, oversaturation is a real thing.

fucking love those

I remember trying to chase a bat out of my ex girlfriend's house, and taking a break from it to watch the Imada/Masvidal backpack triangle. What a thing of beauty
