Leo also suffered that effect, and Johnny Depp in his youth, too. There's an image problem, there, where being too successful as a "star", in blockbusters, and too much of a heartthrob, especially to teen girls, it can hurt you.The "respect the cock and tame the c**t" was just flippin genius considering his audience, the movie was absolutely brilliant. I don't know for which role exactly but I think he's been overlooked awards wise like Brad was because they're too handsome and not considered serious enough.
Probably, but I can forgive that stuff if I love a movie. I still love Mary Poppins.I'm not either but I recall it being awful.
I hope Leo will get his at some point. It would have been ideal for he and Brad to win together in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. I think he deserved it for Gilbert but can't recall if he was up for nomination.Leo also suffered that effect, and Johnny Depp in his youth, too. Leo got the Oscar for The Revenant. He no longer has to be fear as being named as one of the greatest actors to have never won the award. But for a long time he was always dismissed, I think, because of his "pussy posse" youth phase.I hope Leo will get his at some point. Oh bugger I forgot about that. Brilliant. Husband was on a day long interview in DC and I took myself to see that on my own to kill a few hours. Can't say I would have the patience to watch it again but what a brilliant movie and performance.Leo got the Oscar for The Revenant. Everyone recognized he was a prodigious talent from What's Eating Gilbert Grape, but then it was like nobody ever talked about his performances seriously again until he got tapped by Scorsese.
Yeah, it's easy to slip the memory, maybe because I think we all know that wasn't his best performance, but it is what it is.Oh bugger I forgot about that. Brilliant. No shit before I saw the "K" I was thinking Kalifornia. Dirty, smelly, holes in his socks someone you would avoid on the street. Also Duchovny and I'm an X Files nerd so win win.Yeah, it's easy to slip the memory, maybe because I think we all know that wasn't his best performance, but it is what it is.
It's all goes back to that Adonis effect you mentioned. Like with Brad. He's had so many incredible performances, but I still think maybe the best I've ever seen from him was his performance in Kalifornia. Okay, sure, that wasn't the kind of movie that gets lavished with awards, nor was it strong enough even if it was the right type of movie to develop that momentum, but shit, even the Saturn Awards couldn't throw him a bone?
He was so good in Rain Man he should have gotten the Oscar nomination that year too. Either for best actor or supporting. Honestly should have won.1. Magnolia
2. Rain Man
3. A Few Good Men
Why is the original top gun not in the poll?
You are totally correct. Legend (much like Dracula 1992) is a visually stunning film though. I recently rewatched it and it was beautifully filmed (no homo).Legend was kind of dumb in the sense the entire film only happens because the dumb girl throws her ring in the water to make Jack get it. She nearly gets him killed for no reason other then to flaunt her beauty and make Jack run in circles for her
I think Labyrinth is much better

Anyway I chose A few good men, Eyes wide shut and Fall out. I had a tough time picking which Mission Imposs film I liked best as most of them deliver (apart from number 2...I don't know how that went so bad).
Well I didn't see that opinion coming lolNumber 2 is awesome. Kung Fu Ethan Hunt chasing after the sexy Thandiwe Newton. Its a lot of fun. For sure his best fighting/entertaining scenes.

Well I'll rewatch. It wouldn't be the first movie I initially hated then rewatched later in life and went on to loveI had the same option as you until I watched it again. I thought 3 was a train wreck.
