Collateral not even on the list? It's his best performance...
It's all I like about the movie tbh great performance yes but not a great movie imo

No Interview with the Vamp? Eyes wide is great. As is Color.
Fits like a glove is a good expression for him as Lestat. I agree as well. Rough scene in the sunlight.I thought it was really good, I especially liked how it ended. I thought Kirsten outperformed everyone
Yeah would love to see that extra footage but it's most likely not gonna happen. It'll just build the mystery around the film which is cool in its own right. Not to mention there's a lot of the film that was cut out, I think they said it was over 23 mins but it could have been as much as 43 mins.
I remember the guy was on Rogans podcast with Tarantino talking about it.
There's a ton of detail in the movie you have to pick up on your own it's just an incredible watch.
I still think Nicole Kidman was at that party getting banged when she tells him about the dream she had. They never say but it wouldn't surprise me if her character was given away at a young age just like she does when she gives away her daughter.
I could see this film climbing the Cruise ranks for me.

I 100% agree with you as far as her being at the party. I think she was part òf the secret society (which is based on the Rosicrucians and Blavotsky/Crowley) and the daughter is the next in the cycle of Sexual Ritual Abuse. There's even the Magic Circle symbolism in the last scene to tie it together.
It's worth it to read Schnitzler's novel, all the occult books that Kubrick was into at the time, and the Making Of book that came out a few years back. I learned a lot from those. For instance, Kubrick wanted Woody Allen as the lead initially and you put Cruise and Kidman together with him and they all have personal history with SRA and cults. Kidman's father was accused of some horrific things and the others two's histories are well known at this point. Seems like Kubirck was trying to say something with his actor choices imo.
Anyway, Kubrick is a never ending rabbithole and endlessly rewatchable and Cruise was the right choice in the end no doubt.
Yeah the Kidman thing is nuts so who knows. There have been lots of allegations levied at him so it's worth looking into. Cruise is a scientologist which is tied heavily to sexual abuse and cult behavior. Also, Kubrick's daughter got caught up in Scientology and his family said he was none too happy about it. Also, the scene with Kidman and the sailor is a direct reference to L. Ron Hubbard imo.Dang so Kidmans dad hadcharges against him and then suddenly died? I didn't know this but from the few articles I saw some say that others are saying its a conspiracy ect. I know about the Woody Allen thing but were you implying something with Cruise as well?
I'm not into the whole occult/satanic thing so I'll pass on reading about it but i heard there's a ton of symbols and messages in this film. Always wondered what they were chanting over and over again in the mansion.
What were your thoughts on the shop owner and his underage daughter? He went from locking them in to shaking their hands as he became her pimp.
The thing about Kidmans character is if she was there then she knew he was there and thats why she was flaunting in his face about being passed around and then she left the mask on his pillow. But when he broke down confessing it all to him she was teary eyed which thru me off. Which then leads to the ending where I guess they give their daughter away to thecult and her only answer to fix it all is to "fuck"
I did buy this rn off amazon for $8 just so I can watch the extras and whatever else it offers plus I want to watch it on my oled instead of streaming it on my phone. Gonna watch this again tomorrow whenever it arrives.
Without a doubt his most underrated. Easily. That and Days of Thunder would be next on my Honorable Mentions list. They're in my Top 10.Far and Away is his best film for me.
I worked as the corporate account manager at Philips for their monitor division. Someone from the lead development team redesigning Dubai airport asked me to talk to people to develop the monitors from Minority Report for the airport. Like they thought the tech existed already. It probably does now, I'm going back to 2002.I think Minority Report is criminally under rated. It beats most Sci-Fi films that people say are the best. This guy has had some career.
That's one of my favorite performances by him ever. It's freaking hilarious. "Looka at me. I will drop kick the fucking dog." One of the best supporting actor performances of the 90's.Why does no one ever mention Magnolia? I really really regardless of him being a Scientology nut like Tom Cruise and that was my favourite of his. He's brilliant. After watching Reacher and reading some I can't be on board with him due to his height. I was oblivious till recently. He's one of my favourite actors.
Didn't he have a terrible accent in Far and Away?Without a doubt his most underrated. Easily. That and Days of Thunder would be next on my Honorable Mentions list. They're in my Top 10.
His 90's filmography is straight fucking fire.
I'm not Irish, how would I know?Didn't he have a terrible accent in Far and Away?
The "respect the cock and tame the c**t" was just flippin genius considering his audience, the movie was absolutely brilliant. I don't know for which role exactly but I think he's been overlooked awards wise like Brad was because they're too handsome and not considered serious enough. That's one of my favorite performances by him ever. It's freaking hilarious. "Looka at me. I will drop kick the fucking dog." One of the best supporting actor performances of the 90's.
I'm also a huge PTA fan, but Magnolia as a movie just isn't a particular love of mine. Same goes for Eyes Wide Shut, except I'm indifferent towards his personal performance in that film. I adore Kubrick, who doesn't, he was my favorite director in my youth, and I understand the depth of the film, I just don't enjoy it.
Yet those films are the two most esteemed by critics of all of his filmography.
