You knew he was special the way he manhandled Stephan Bonnar. He relied more on great take downs then. Once he started fighting at a higher level he started utilizing more finger techniques, racking up big wins.
Last weekend showed why he's at HW though, he didn't look very good but he will go down imo as the best MMA fighter we've seen so far

- Looked fat and not good versus Stipe. Of course Stipe looked terrible.
- Gane was too easy to grapple.
- Lost to Reyes
- Draw with Thiago
- Boring fight with Smith
I'd say Cormier 1 to Gus 2, still near physical prime at 28 - 31 but with the skill of a veteran. He's 6'4 and heavy, getting skilled takes time for big people.
Early Jones had even worse boxing than now. And looked good because he fought a lot of old middlweights
