Just wanted to see if anyone has noticed significant gains from it. Please no answers like "Randy Couture". Thanks.

I know my muscular and respiratory endurance has gotten better, but strength I feel if anything has gone down. I'm getting really frustrated balancing power and endurance.

Isn't Randy's workout a circuit training type thing? If so, the factors that you're improving on are what the workout aims to improve. You're not going to gain much strength with it (since it's conditioning based). Maybe try periodizing your workouts?

Just to clarify, what do you mean by "power"?

As easytiger mentioned, what you focus on will be what you get. If you mix various strengths, you'll get various results. Which isn't a bad thing if that's your goal, but you can't expect great gains at everything at the same time.

Im asuming thats not the only workout you do??

Perhaps you should look to the part of your routine that actuall was designed to increase power, and give creds to the circuit that it did what it was suposed to do in increasing your muscle endurance.

Thats a circuit program, so by increasing your endurance its done its job,

You should split your workouts between this and lifting for more strength if thats what you aim for

large barbell complex= muscular endurance and cardio; focus isn't on srength. Keep in mind that Couture had been doing Olympic lifting for a very long time when he was in HW division and was realtively strong for that division. When he dropped down to LHW he realized he was as strong or stronger than everyone there and began to focus his routine in cardio that never failed. And to date he has not gassed since his first fight w/ Pedro.

I am not very familiar with how you use this circuit (ie: how many times a week you use it), but my routine is a 4 on, 1 off routine where I lift heavy weights once in that cycle, and the next week I lift for power. Maybe you could do one week using his circuit and the next week using oly lifts with lighter weights focusing on bar speed (building power). Just my advice

Maybe I should reshift my question to this...
Is it possible to get great results (power+endurance) without training as a full-time pro-fighter?
I find my whole life I either have great strength or great endurance, and when I try to find the in-between I feel like I have nothing, so I always end up with one or the other. I guess I just really wish I had the time to get both peaked. I wish I had the time to do circuit and power training everyday. Damn. I guess I'm just looking for one workout that's magical to make use of my time.

Ive done some reserch on this workout and I read that in the seminar randy said he uses this workout twice a week. (Makes sence to me) but as any one whos went through intence prefight training knows your not going to put on strengh in that time thats when this workout comes in. Keeping the strengh you have while geting yer stamina where it needs to be. off season you should be power (or Olimpic) lifting to build yer strengh not this but in fight training this workout will really help your muscles from fatiging in a match = yer last shots gona be as strong as the first one:icon_chee

As some one said above periodize. Spend some time building strength and power, then focus on conditioning while maintaining your previous gains.
