Randy Couture heart attack: The type of fat you eat that can help reduce the risks

What's a heart attack?
A permanent damage to the tissues of the heart due to a lack of blood supply/oxygen to the heart.
(clevelandclinic)

What is the common cause?
Coronary arteries become blocked over time due to plaques.
(mayoclinic)

Underlying factors
genetics, age, fitness, life styles (e.g. tobacco, certain drugs, etc), diet.

Direct cause of clogged arteries
The types of animal fat in the food people eat.

The reason:

Human core body temperature: 37 C / 98.6 F
lte_pcmlm_bt.png

Beef fat
  • melts at 40-50 C / 104-122 F
  • human arteries (37 C) cannot melt the beef fat
  • therefore, beef fat is a solid in human arteries => clogged arteries

Chicken fat
  • melts at 23-40 C / 73.4-104 F
  • human arteries (37 C) would melt most of the chicken fat
  • therefore, chicken fat is mostly a liquid in human arteries => little to no clogged arteries

Christ Almighty. Have you ever heard of the keto diet? Eating more saturated fat can actually raise your HDL levels and lower your LDL. I've had my blood work done and my cholesterol is always on the optimal range.

Lol @ "beef fat", "chicken fat"... melt.
'Coconut oil" melts at 24°C/76°F, yet it's 90% saturated fat.
Also: at what temperature do nuts - aka as mostly not saturated fats - melt?

Not sure whether trolling or shertardism.

HDL and LDL levels are kind of funny, alot of it is genetics and people can live with LDL levels in the stratosphere and never have a problem.

Yet somehow Nate Diaz is going to end up in a coma at like 35 and Roy Nelson is going to live to be 150. This diet stuff is bullshit.

Glad you mentioned coconut oil, because not all saturated fat are the same (plant saturated fat =/= animal saturated fat). In the case of coconut oil, it has been found that it is actually beneficial in lowering cholesterol! :)

1)
Daily Consumption of Virgin Coconut Oil Increases High-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol [good cholesterol] Levels in Healthy Volunteers: A Randomized Crossover Trial
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5745680/

2)
"Coconut oil significantly increased HDL-C... "
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/29511019
3)
"The effects of coconut fat and soya fat on serum lipids are controversial...
Sixty (60) healthy volunteers aged 18–57 years were given coconut milk porridge (CMP) for 5 days of the week for 8 weeks...
Results. The LDL (low density lipoprotein) [bad cholesterol] levels decreased ...
The HDL (high density lipoprotein) [good cholesterol] levels rose significantly

We conclude that coconut fat in the form of CM does not cause a detrimental effect on the lipid profile in the general population and in fact is beneficial due to the decrease in LDL and rise in HDL"

100% bullshit.

There's digestion factors as well. You can be allergic to coconut, peanut and avocado so for those people it's irrelevant how healthy the fat is on mmath chart.

Ice cream melts pretty easily, that's why I eat it every day. For health reasons.

Thanks for the info. Never been a big red meat guy anyway. Been getting more into plant based and sea food. Not going to look back now. Even if you're in good shape, the wrong food can put you in hospital.

I love beef, too, and if I were to eat it, I'd go with the lean cuts and stay away from the tasty but fatty parts.
I am living with a 92-year-old man whose heart seems to be healthier than most 30-year-olds. No history of any cardiovascular disease and his daily physical output at 92 is damn impressive (works outdoors all day every day). He eats pork four to five times a week. Always the same meal and has been that way for decades. He only eats the fatty parts as he doesn't like the lean cuts. His lungs are failing though, most likely due to decades of daily smoking.

I don't believe in eating mammals for reasons of animal cruelty. However, I also believe in collecting data and trying to learn from it. This man is an important data point and the data is high-quality as I can observe him myself and I know he's not breaking protocol.

Yet somehow Nate Diaz is going to end up in a coma at like 35 and Roy Nelson is going to live to be 150. This diet stuff is bullshit.

Aren't you the guy from the impeachment thread? I like your style. It's extremely skeptical to the point of being totally non-committal.

lamb is a 1 year or younger sheep...

do you really want to eat that?

they act a lot like cats, the adults protect the babies

shit is fucked up, I eat everything but lamb and veal that shit disgusts me

You'll eat this though?

I support you.

This post is dumb on so many levels.

You can get clogged arteries full of fat without ever digesting or eating any fat at all.

Randy said he has always had thick blood and thinks thats why he had the heart attack. TMZ video interview.

Watch "The Game Changers" documentary. Clear-cut science through and through.

It's true that most of the fat we eat don't get absorbed, but the one that is absorbed (after digestive enzymes broke it down gut) will move into the blood stream, and it will clog up the blood vessels over time.

I was under the assumption that we digest and then absorb the protein better when it has fat with it.

My knowledge is probably years out of date but I thought they debunked the saturated fats and heart disease view. Any way I need a nap after the second steak(sirloin this time) but I'll try and have a look if I have time.

All I know is, I’m not taking nutrition advice from a Sherdogger.

It's actually insulin that helps the body absorbs amino acids (the digested protein) better: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/7006941

"Insulin significantly increased the ileal uptake of valine, isoleucine, leucine, tyrosine, threonine, and serine from arterial blood"

Insulin increases when we eat carbs, so this means that when carbs is eaten together with protein, the increase in insulin will help the body absorb the protein (amino acids) better.

TS explanation about fats melting in arteries is utter nonsense. Those fats don't end up in that form in the bloostream.

I'm open for ideas. How are the fats end up in the blood stream, and how do we explain beef fat speeds up in clogging blood vessels?
