Rand Paul has said he will not support Pompeo at State or new CIA head. If McCain doesn't come back to vote - which he likely isn't and Dems all vote against both than Paul + Dem 49 can block both 50-49.

I think this could be Paul hardball here to finally get the votes to end the open ended AUMF that he and Kaine have both been trying to get repealed.

Haspel is a gleeful torturer who purposefully ordered the destruction of her Thai blacksite torture tapes before they could be made public or at least to congress. I don't think she gets one Dem vote anways.

Pompeo did get Dem votes for CIA, but some of them are already airing reservations about his jump to State Department and how their support for him for CIA Director doesn't rubberstamp their vote for him at Foggy Bottom.

Corker and Flake could both balk at Pompeo and especially Haspel noms as well.

Wow, you would have thought that the not chaotic, but great energy, White House would have tied up all of the loose ends to make sure something like this couldn't happen, before Trump fired Tillerson on twitter, and fired the guy who told the truth that Trump had not talked to Tillerson before announcing that Tillerson was out and Pompeo was in on Twitter. This is just so out of character for a great energy white house that isn't in chaos.
