My neighbor has a couple outside cats that are always roaming the neighborhood, sometimes they come into my yard and this morning I was leaving to go to the gym and I felt a slight bump under the car, like I had run something over. I got out obviously and seen my neighbors cat lying in my driveway not moving. I freaked out a bit because me and my wife don't have the best relationship with our neighbor due to some prior bullshit, but I would never purposely hurt an animal.

Neighbors weren't home so I ran inside grabbed a bag and put the cat in my trunk after I checked for a pulse(there was none) after that I drove to the gym and did my chest workout. I was going to put in a dumpster but I decided that I should just be a man and tell my neighbor what happened. They still aren't home, should be later tonight but now I'm having second thoughts. I'm not sure how they would react and I think it just might be easier for me to get rid of it and pretend like nothing happened.

TL/DR
Backed up over Neighbors Cat
Put it in a trashbag in my trunk because neighbors weren't home
was going to put in a dumpster but decided I was going to tell them the truth
now having second thoughts about telling them, cat is still in car

Don't tell them. Get cat stuffed then wait a month or so so they've had time to mourn, then put it on their front porch with a note that says "LOL meow bruhhh"

Deny
Deny
Deny

As a cat owner, please tell them. Not knowing where they are is worse than knowing their fate. Give them closure.

Just tell em what happened man.

If you live in a neighborhood with tons of kids and animals its not a bad idea to do a full walk around the car before taking off too.

Jesus. You need to tel them. And they need to keep their cats inside. If you let your cat outside, then you had better be expecting something like this. I know cats love going out and hunting. But it really isn't the best thing for them.

THAT AV...

.HNNNNGGGG!!!!!!

is their cat always outside roaming about? cats are usually kept inside. honestly, i don't think this is your fault. keep your pets inside, or within your property. if i were you, i'd tell them that you ran over their cat and say sorry. if they start giving you shit, that's when you tell them that they should have ensured that their pet stays on THEIR property. it's not your fault that someone's random pet entered your property.

You don't need to tell them if you don't want to, but you should leave the cat in the street at the curb in front of their house so they will know that it was hit by a car. RIP lil pussy, we hardly knew ye.

DON"T WORRY TS I GOT YOU

This happened in high school to me. My buddy was giving me a ride home and he was going about 70 in a 35 and all the sudden this cat jumped out infront of his camaro. We were high as fuck so i told him to back up so we could see what it was. We ran over the cat again then got out. I realized that it was my moms cat.

So i went home and didn't say a word. After about 2 days my mom asked me if I saw the cat and I said "no". A day later I helped put up a few missing posters.

I will go to the grave before I admit what happened.

TLDR DENY AND LIE

Should of just tossed the body on their driveway right away and then went and blasted your pecs. What chest routine did you do?

When they get home sneak over in the middle of the night and put the cat under the tire of their car...

No. Actually you should fess up.

That sucks, did it die instantly? Hate to see any animal suffer. I would tell them I would be very upset of one of my pets disappeared.

Why even let them move around at all even in the house? They might get hurt.

I think cats should be kept duct taped to the bottom of an aquarium, because living an actual life isn't the best thing for them.

Hahaha, brutal.

But yeah, TS. You already know the answer to this it seems.

You've gotta tell them. Even if you guys aren't on the best terms, they deserve to know what happened to their cat.

I've had many cats over the years, a few of them haven't made it. As terrible as the image was, seeing the lifeless body of my buddy Dub, in the ditch when I was out for a walk, was a much better experience than having Homer disappear forever, not knowing what happened to him.

Completely agree. Unless these people are gun hording, meth using psychopaths, just tell them and apologize.

-long stare- O.O

-moves in for awkward hug...-

What a stupid post from someone who obviously doesn't understand shit.

Is it better to deprive your poor animals of an actual life oit of your own fear of your inability to handle grief and loss - which are both natural parts of life?

Sorry, pal. Better to have loved and lost, etc.
