Media Rampage Jackson & Luke Rockhold Interview Michael Bisping on Jaxxon Podcast

I got the distinct vibe that Rockhold developed a bit of a man crush on Bisping and that’s why their beef dissipated e

Bisping is a funny dude and knows how to roast
Not at all. I watched about 45 minutes of that interview and while the heat has died down as in, they don’t hate each other anymore, you can still tell there is significant tension between them. Probably always will be there.

Deserves crazy respect for it..

He wasn’t the most talented fighter to begin with…

NOT a great wrestler..
Never had big KO power..

Bisping was a cardio machine that outworked people. A true overachiever..

He uses it as an excuse for losing

People tend to simplify Bisping due to his talent shortcomings. Parillo can vouch nobody worked harder in the gym than Bisping and he said this in front of Rockhold face

It isn’t as simple as good cardio

He demanded a rematch and beat a dude who tried to kill him (Henderson). He fought with a bad eye in probably 8 high caliber fights. He used codes with Parillo to get past medical regulations on that bad eye.

Bisping has a lionheart He’s probably one of the most courageous fighters in the history of the UFC

this, how could he possibly not have known. i mean that is really bizarre. and he's saying he's personal friends with the guy.
It's the main reason why I can barely handle these small clips. No way I can sit through a whole episode.

I'm surprised that Rampage didn't know they fought 2x and had beef. Rampage would bring out names and events from decades past and would be oblivious to common knowledge for casuals.

He's been pretty open about not really watching MMA or even being a big fan of the sport in the past. I'm not surprised one bit by this.

Rampage and Bisping haven't been friends for years.

This podcast was the first time they talked in like a decade. They had a falling out when Bisping left Wolfslair where both he and Rampage trained.

Apparently the management used the coaches as some kind of debt collectors and scammed their fighters out of large amounts of money. Rampage took Wolfslair's side at the time and did some interviews saying he wanted to fight Bisping over not paying his fair share to the coaching staff etc.

Then later on they also scammed Rampage out of money, and he realised Bisping had been right all along. This podcast was kind of their make up session.

That being said, it was good to see. Rampage was laughing more genuinely than I've seen on any other episode that I've watched. Clear he missed Bisping over the years and vice versa.

Makes sense now the reference Bisping made at the end there (to rampage:”we’ll have our own talk later on about that scumbag so and so”)

Also i did notice the laughing. It was almost like having a good cry

His choice to fight like that. Can't complain after
He stated later in the interview that he holds no ill will towards Vitor, wishes him the best, and that "all" fighters know what they are getting into and the risks. He's probably slightly bitter about losing an eye especially to an opponent that was juiced to the gills. I would be too. If I lost an eye, I'd be absolutely terrified to lose the other. How he continued fighting is beyond me.

What a great podcast. Listened to the whole thing.

Rampage has never watched a lot of mma

I think that's only changed recently, he watches more fights now because of the pod

His Gary Goodridge podcast is nuts,

Gary telling a story how Coleman was scared to fight Fedor so Gary stood in with 3 months of no training for 100k purse lol

Think he was paying Juanito like 30% as well

Rampage never had a team or coaches he could trust. They all scammed him out of money.

Wolfslair wasn't a great gym for him either, his skills degraded a fair bit after going there.

Rampage at his peak is one of the best LHWs ever, but he could've been so much better if he didn't have such bad training issues. Seems like nobody had any real interest in making him better / helping him attain his potential as a fighter. At best, they kept him in shape.

If retired aging fighters do not understand each other then nobody does.
They have somewhat similar experiences but they cant underline that in competition.

I was referring to using it as an excuse in the subsequent fights ie. His loss to Luke

that co host is a fucking joke, he ruins what is otherwise a great podcast. Every fighter they bring out should get a free shot on this guy until he shuts his mouth
Man it's frustrating. Him and Rampage making constant gay jokes ruins the flow alot.

that I could deal with, its the ignorant and disrespectful comments. The guy makes people who get brain damage for a living look like Einstein. He doesn't ask good questions of the guests, he is the rotten tomato in an otherwise great sandwich

Listen to the show long enough and you start to appreciate what a foil he actually is. He adds depth to the show with his contributions. I love Rampage but there’s no way he can do the show without Bear and Luke weirdly has become a steadfast
