*Rampage crapping all over UFC on conference call!*

I think you confused business with GREED.

Unions didn't destroy a damned thing. Unions built Hostess and the Twinkie. Greed took the capitalists overlords out of the game.

Unions are protecting actual live Human Beings that do the actual work necessary for Hostess and the Twinkie to exist in the first place.

Unions are trying to turn us all into someone who is appreciated after giving your life to the company, a real human being that can can retire with a little respect

The unions destroyed Detroit. They destroy everything they touch.

Yes, they raise the wages. But, businesses can't afford those wages and they go bankrupt. Great job, unions, you destroyed the goose who laid the golden eggs.

This shit ain't new. Here's a picture of the hostess workers from 1878. They cut open the Hostess goose to get more gold.

Oops, greedy union thug you just killed Hostess! Now your wife and kids are gonna starve, dumbass!

You're in the picture too. You're the guy with the sash that says "Communist" and you are cheering on the dumbass unions.

Thanks for time traveling with me.

And still, the risk you put on your health is still higher than the one I put on the business with my money.

Because if I invest my money into the mineral rights of some land, and I don't make any money, I've lost the money I've invested.

If you get lung cancer working in said mine, you lose your life.

I can get my money back investing it somewhere else, you can't get your life back.

Your comparison isn't very fair...

A company, when it folds, can also be replaced.

You're also comparing an empoyee being hurt or injured to a company folding. A more accurate comparison to a company folding, would be an employee dying.

The question now being, would you care more if a company a family member started went bankrupt, or if said family member died.

You aren't looking at this from a business standpoint. I agree life is more important than money. If you were going to pay me 20 million to be injected with the AIDS virus, or if I let you cut off my right arm and left leg, or something like that, I'm going to say no.

But...

1. When somebody agrees to put their life/health at risk for a set amount of money, they are putting a pricetag on their health, or at least on the risk of injury. When several people do this, you determine a market value. They are essentially saying they are willing to risk their health for an amount of money.

2. Many of these fighters are willing to do it for free. Most people (if any) don't get into MMA for the money. They get into it because it's what they like to do despite the risks, and are willing to do it for little to no money.

3. I'm not sure why this has become a money vs. health issue anyways, because those complaining aren't complaining the don't make enough to compensate the risk, they are complaining because they either think there is more money available and they want a bigger slice, or because they see other pro athletes making more. They want more because they think either their talent or marketability is worth more. They might as well be singers or software designers.

4. You say you can replace a business. Not without money. Money is the driving force behind business. It's what it takes to run a buisiness and it's why people work for you.

You may be wasting your breath here. You're either going to be dealing with people that prefer a more 'socialist' workplace or those that have difficulty understanding revenue v profits. I had an online discussion on another site about why a company would not pay employees a certain wage and the guy argued (claiming he was a sharp financial type) that the company generated 100's of millions in revenue and should pay the employees what the deserved. He laughed when I told him there was no relation between revenue and profits. So I gave him the example of Interstate Brands...I never heard back from him.

As to raising money you mentioned in an earlier post. I've hired 5 people in the last 60days. I've been trying to raise capital for 6 months and am still working through that.

McDonalds makes billions, $20/hr starting wage makes sense.

So about the same as a college graduate, huh? Not including overtime, shift differential or holidays/weekends, of course. That's just a 40 hour work week.

Then we pay college graduates $50/ hr - we got trillions, makes sense when you think about it for a few seconds

Exactly. That's what we're talking about after all. Entry level workers making a few percent less than managers who make a few percent less than executives/business owners. Let's just share all that filthy money...oh, and jobs for life regardless of performance.

While we're at it let's just average the grades in the classroom, too. That way the F student will feel better because they will be raised to a higher grade and the A student will feel REALLY good because they are helping the rest of the class...that's what we'll tell them at least...and if they don't feel good about it let's make them feel bad because they obviously don't have the good of the class at heart and probably have moral and ethical issues. After all they probably didn't study hard or sacrifice and are naturally bright people that have an unusual advantage over the rest that they shouldn't take advantage of.

The fighters make good money because of the UFC, and the UFC makes good money because of the fighters. Pretty fair relationship

They did actually, by creating a market out of nothing, from a "sport" that wasn't even recognized as a sport, but a banned human **** fighting event. Yeah they took the biggest risk financially and without them there would be no UFC.

I hate when people say this. This is not how it went down at all. Lorenzo Fertita was a Commission boss in Nevada. A CEO of a promotion (UFC) of a relatively new sport (MMA) was asking to be sanctioned. THE RULES WERE ALREADY WRITTEN AND THE PLAN FOR EXPANSION ALREADY IN PLACE. Lorenzo went back on his word and used his vote to KEEP MMA ILLEGAL in the state of Nevada. Naturally, the promotion was suddenly alot less valuable. Guess who cals to make an offer right after illegalizing the sport; it was Dana White on behalf of Lorenzo Fertita....Lorenzo has his former commission employees sanction the sport in Nevada and the rest is history.

Yeah man. Dana and the Fertitas take more risk than the guys that pay to get punched in the face.

YOU RIGHT DAWG.

Okay, think quick. Take a punch in the face or lose 25 million dollars!

One punch in the face. Or lose more money than you'll ever see in your life due to one bad day on Wall Street, one bad decision by a single person in your organization (not you, mind you, just a person you employ), etc. Yeah? A punch in the face, not such a big deal now?

GREAT LOGIC DAWG!

I used to be a big Rampage fan but I can't stand the guy anymore. All he talks about is money. STFU and fight. You ever hear GSP or Silva talk about money? No, they win fights and they get paid. Your lazy ass doesn't deserve to get paid like them cause all you care about is getting paid and no one gives a crap about you now. Rampage complains every chance he gets.

I agree man. I used to be a big fan but he just never stops whinning. I'll be glad when he's gone. It's a business and they are in business for a reason. To make money and from what I have seen Rampage has nothing to bitch about. Clearly he is a millionaire and has done well. How much money do you need?...He's one of those guys that will always think the grass is greener on the other side and never be happy. Plus, who publicly bitches about the company they work for and still has a job. As somebody else already said, start your own promotion if you want the big bucks but be sure to be willing to lose it all.
