Give us a list of all the justified shootings from all over the country (to include law enforcement) and compare that with your cherry-picked cases... your attempt at demonstrating some sort of over-arching societal problem falls completely flat when examined in the proper context (that these incidents are not only quite rare, they are trumpeted across media whenever possible - we never hear of the black on black murders and we never hear of the justified use of firearms in self-defense unless there was a social justice angle at play).

I don't think it's irrational to not care about criminals killing each other. This was some kid making an honest mistake.

Do it? No. Happily see it? Possible. The US is a huge country and racist views don't just die overnight. There are plenty of Americans who grew up in opposition to the civil rights movement for example, they are still around.

I asked if any of those cases involved a DA with (as far as I know) a normal reputation fabricating evidence to add a hate crime charge. I have no reason to doubt the DA entirely based the hate crime charge off of nothing.

But sure, feel free to tell us how any of those unrelated examples you listed suggest that the hate crime charge is bogus.

I hope the accounts aren't true that the neighborhood had no resemblance to his friend's... the house and neighborhood had "No Trespassing" signs everywhere. The cars were different and the house he was at had a garage in a completely different location than his friend's house.

Obviously nobody should have been shot and it's tragic. The real damage is the base of inherently racist NPCs that will make this something it isn't.

Do me just one favor, please. Cite me a law that has been passed recently that specifically targets minorities (there are many types of "minority" so please be specific). A law that says "people of x color by law cannot do y" for example. And also, which population is "statistically insignificant" - by which metric?

(And no, I will not agree with the assumption that requiring all people who vote to produce a valid ID is somehow racist, it's literally the only way to ensure election integrity - and any of those laws apply to ALL people of all persuasions. Telling me that for some reason poor black people are incapable of acquiring a valid ID like everyone else is an insult to competent, law-abiding black people. Not trying to put words in your mouth, because I am curious as to why you would make the statement you did)

The shot while the kid is down is a fact in dispute, old man didn’t corroborate it; also according to the charging documents the person who was shot says he was knocking for a while, so he might’ve not answered under normal circumstances but the kid saw he was home and kept knocking.

Also people are acting like Missouri law requires entry, sorry it only takes attempted entry and fear of harm, you’re talking an 80+ year old man and a 6’ tall young man.
