is this true were did you hear it i know jiri has trained with gust and manuwa cuz there is photos of it in his instagram and i know rakic sparred with manuwa too but i ve never heard of them sparred each other but i d favor jiri anyday over rakic i also read some coment here from some guy who said jiri sparred with jon jones and there was fireworks amazing but i don t know if is true either

It was grappling sparring with Jon and Jiri also sparred with guys like Arlovski,MVP,Shipman,Cerrone,etc...


BTW i heard about that while ago in one interview and today it was confirmed by Rakičs friend from ATT (He said that Rakič talked openly about sparring with Jiri in GYM23 Vienna and said that Jiri was "little better")

Again to me the obvious reason is this is a bad risk/reward fight at the moment, Jiri has the potential to be one of the top guys in the division and Rakic himself is still rising. So a potentially massive fight in sporting terms but it won't draw big and might not even guarantee a title shot.

It’s a fun fight, but doesn’t really make sense to me rankings-wise. Jiri came in as the RIZIN LHW champ, and is on a huge win streak. He knocked the #7 dude out cold. I think he deserves a top 5 opponent, and then a TS if he wins. Jiri vs Rakic really does make the most sense. Another option is to split up the Glover-Santos pairing, and book one vs Jiri and one vs Rakic. But man what a logjam this is right now.

man jiri is an amazing champ when jon left 205 i though the division have gone to shit but jiri is the next guy there for sure and so humble unlike guys like rakic and reyes volkan is my fav figther after jon but now is a tight with jiri

Although I think he beat Volkan and he is 14:1 actually and 6-0 in UFC, I don't like him:
- shit fight vs Smith, what he did at the end was embarassing (something like Arlo vs Tai)
- he is a little delusional. Probably the next TS will be Santos vs Glover, not him. I only blame UFC for not being more open about this and tell fighters what fighters will get the next TS. Also, better rankings.

Look at the top 5. Rakic is one of them, 2 of them are busy. You only get two choices. Either agree to Jiri now, or wait to see if Dom is ok to go soon. I could see why he'd want to do that since Dom is #2, but rankings are more than just their number, it's momentum. If Santos and Glover both got injured, #4 Rakic should get the title shot, not #2 Dom, cuz he just lost it. So Rakic and Jiri are the only 2 top 5 guys on winning streaks, with upwards momentum. Even if Rakic did wait for Dom, beating him arguably still might not do as much as beating Jiri does now. And if you wait and fight no one, hoping that after the Glover-Thiago winner faces for the belt, you're the last one standing, you risk Jiri fighting someone and passing you by. And let me tell you, if I was a matchmaker dealing with Rakic rejecting Jiri? I'd be offering Jiri first dibs at Dom, not Rakic. So yeah, sitting out puts you back. What a dumb gamble.
