Hey all,
I am going to be taking Muay Thai this summer and was wondering what gloves I should get. I did some research on the forums and I've come up with Twins, Raja, King or Windy...(fairtex is out of the question cause of the price), and I am thinking of 14 oz....I have medium smallish hands so I guess this would be my best bet. I am leaning towards the Twins or Rajas though. Seems like everyone uses Twins so I assume they are good, but what about Rajas? I like the way they look and they are pretty much the same price as the twins. I read somewhere on the forums that the Twins and Raja etc are made at the same factory?.... so I assume that they are built very similar if not exactly similar? Anyways, if anyone has any experience with Raja and Twins, and happen to know how Raja stacks up to Twins, or if I should get a different set of gloves, I would greatly appreciate your input.

Thanks,
JJC

Personally I like King more than Twins. But you can't really go wrong with Raja - though I have very limited experience with them.

But for myself I absolutely love King.

The Twins and King are both good gloves. I can't really comment on the Raja, because I have never owned them or heard people talk a lot about them. I have Fairtex and Twins gloves, and both are excellent. I can tell you that if you do have medium to smaller hands, the Twins have a nice form fitting type pocket to the inside of the glove, as opposed to the Fairtex and Title gloves that I own, which seem to be a little more open design inside. They are all nice gloves, just different.

You mentioned that you like the way the Raja look, so I am not sure whether you mean physically or pattern design. I have a pair of the Twins Special (black/white) Tattoo Pattern in 14oz., and they are really nice gloves. I posted some photos of them and my Fairtex gloves, here not to long ago. Good luck with your search for gloves!

Hey guys, thanks for the responses. BTW, how long should one of these pairs of gloves last me? I had some junk Everlast training gloves I bought from the local sports store a while ago and they were garbage,...I had knuckle pain after like 4 weeks of use. I am guessing/hoping that Twins, King, or Raja would last me..........a year? Maybe 2?

What exactly do you like about King? From what I read they have better wrist support I believe...? How does the padding compare to Twins?

As far as looks go concerning the gloves, I just like the way the logo looks on the Raja gloves haha, strange I know. And also, it seems like everyone uses Twins and that Raja would have a uniqueness factor to it lol. I definitely need to do more research though before I decide. O and I'll definitely check out those pics you posted of your gloves.

raja are not a bad glove. very very hard to get hold of though. if i was spending my money i would go for king or fairtex.

my friend has raja! he likes them --they look pretty good

+1 i love my kings also!!

How heavy are you, rather than what sized hand you have?It makes a difference as to what is recommended...

Not on your list. But you might also want to consider KOFightgear.

also if you are going to buy a pair with a screen on talk to the seller first and ask them about the screen. if they say it's fine they might not be telling you the whole truth.

i have some raja shorts with flappy peices on the side they are unique but ive got twins tatoo gloves witch are holding up quite nicely.

I just got my pair of 14oz Raja gloves and they're awesome. They took forever to get to me though. I ordered them in January and got them in April! They're very well made and the designs look awesome. They have a snug fit, but that should be fine if you have small/medium hands.
I also have a pair of 16oz fairtex gloves.

I really like the fit of the rajas, so i highly recommend them.

King is being mentioned a lot...hmmmm maybe I should check out King more in depth.

Well I guess I should talk to you then if I do decide to get the Raja lol. I noticed that you sell them on your site haha.

Yeah, I've heard this brand tossed around a bit, and I know they are priced very reasonably. Are they a boxing glove or a thai boxing glove? Do you think they would work for muay thai ie clinch work

Wow! Took til april to get to you! That's crazy. If you don't mind me asking, who did you order from? I will try to steer clear from them if I can haha.

Fairtex BG1 14oz training gloves. Expensive will cost you about $80-$90 but they are the best pair of gloves I ever owned, and they are good for sparring too.
